Queen Elizabeth gets compelling, competing theories on credit crunch {Daily Finance}
Aug 19th 2009 1:48PM They saw the whole thing comming....they didn't care, cause here in the USA the government secures these transactions for the banks and pay out on the defaults to the loan comanies. That's why most of these so called loan companies allowed fake paperwork to go through. Most made it clear that they will still get their commissions and make money on the deal no matter what happens, so they didn't feel the need to worry over it. If you look at things, those who helped make all those bad home loans, nobody has been prosecuted to date!
This is the biggest problem, the fat cats on Wall Street have that written in protection and can make all the bad decisions they want knowingly that they will not have to pay for it down the road, even if let go from one bank, another bank scoops that person right up and even at times with a higher salary than the other paid. Yeah..this is how it happened!
Mel Gibson's Girlfriend Talks Marriage {PopEater}
Aug 11th 2009 10:17PM Oh lordy please, this man claims to be the ultra christian, yet divorces his wife and commits adultery along with it!
She is no better the woman he is with now...the interview reads sort of like she is pimping herself out to him because of his money and connections.
They both deserve each other...I just feel sorry for the kids
11-Year-Old Attempts Scooter Robbery With Toy Gun {Asylum}
Aug 1st 2009 10:52PM Goes to show that parents aren't doing their jobs. First off, the kid who pulled the gun should get a good ass whipping, plus along with the parent(s). The parents should do the same amount of time as the kid.
Second, the parents of the kids should have taught them that when a person pulls a gun on them what to do properly. The kids should have turned over the scooters, that gun looked real and god forbid if it was what would have really happened? Since the gun wasn't real, those kids could have also beaten the hell out of that kid with the scooter that he wanted so damn badly. Maybe then he would have learned that crime truly wasn't worth that ass beating he just got, but odds are he would only learn to get a real gun.
Trixie + Peanut Blossom Pet Bed - Paw Nation Giveaway! {Pawnation OLD}
Jul 29th 2009 5:59PM My Betty (a puggle mix) was found along the local back highway on June 1, 2001. She was skin and bones, cigarrette burns, and breeded out to the point her nipples were huge and wornout. The poor thing took an hour to get out of the cage she was in, so she could come home with me.
I got word about her through my local police, they knew me for my affinity with pugs, and once I saw her in 100 something heat with no shade and water, I knew I couldn't leave her there. She was in such bad shape that it took her a week before she would even come near me to sniff my hand.
I had to work on some training issues, but at the same time couldn't yell "no" or go aggressively at her. She would just cower and shake all over if anyone did that. Trust, me it took alot of time and effort.
Today, nobody would believe this was that dog, she's a plump happy go lucky dog, though a bit stubborn and spoiled with her age being up there. She sleeps mostly with me on my bed at night, I have an old pillow that I let her sleep on, but she sneaks over to be next to me.
During the day, she will lie on another pillow I have set up in the living room while we watch TV or snack together. Even then she gets to sneak over and get her scritches and belly rubs in...along with a small sample of whatever I'm eating.
She truly became more of a blessing and has warmed alot of non dog lovers hearts. Most of my neighbors that live near me, know and look for her to be with me at all times. I think she's become the star of my neighborhood and better known more than myself.
I know now she's getting up there in her years, I estimate she's about 12 years old in human years, so time isn't on our side for much longer and I dread and fear the day I will lose her. I just know for now, we live it up and enjoy what we have. I will continue regardless to provide and make up for the rough start she must have had in life. Most of the scars have healed, but there are times when she's sleeping that she whimpers and cringes in her sleep...so all I can do is remind her that she's safe and pet her as she calms down. It does break my heart that this is the life she had, but I know with me she's got it way better than even most dogs who never had that horrible of a beggining anyway.
With or without that bed, she will be treated like a queen...and I'm sure the bed would be nice to have...but I think she's good with the life she's got now.
Family's Cat Accidentally Euthanized {Pawnation OLD}
Jul 29th 2009 5:47PM I worked for a local vet back in high school. I saw more amazing stupid things that owners did to their animals than mistakes that were made by any doctor I know all my life.
Yes, mistakes will happen just like with people, we can only hope with few and far inbetween. Simple word of mouth about the doctors to avoid and vist can make a difference. I know if there is anything seriously wrong with my pet I will be taking it out of town for medical help since I know the doctors around here aren't that familiar with more serious stuff. All I can truly suggest is find a doctor that is strongly familiar with your breed of animal and you will have a better chance of a great outcome! The expense and time will be worth it in the long run!
Did I Give My Son A Girl's Name? {ParentDish}
Jul 29th 2009 4:55PM Okay, Azure is not gonna win boy points...plus, most standard jobs in the future will look at the name and already have preconcieved notions on what that person will be like just based by the name. It happens now, and in the past...so I doubt the future will be much more enlightened in our lifetime over this.
So, why follow tradition? Really, has it really made that much of a difference in anyone's future? I say go with the name, keep the kid happy, healthy, strong, and a great sense of self. This kid won't worry over his name nor anyone who has an issue with it!
'Extreme Makeover' extremely expensive: winning man forced to move out {WalletPop}
Jul 28th 2009 4:54PM Extreme Makover is just that...extreme! They don't teach these people how to manage the financial end of all of this. They don't make sure that the people can afford the new home they have. The most they could do is install solar pannells so maybe they could make some money on it and use that extra to help finance the home a bit better.
These people are given a small comfort for usually horrible things that have happened in their lives. Then, the cameras go away, the people go away...but the tax man comes at the door. Yeah, all those extras are taxable...so, who will pay for all that? These people can't afford it, so they are forced to sell their home and pray that they have enough left over to continue on with their lives. Worse off...they now lost their home and have to find a new place to live! That is the true crime of the show. They give yet take away too much! I stopped watching this show over a year now...because I don't want to watch these people get suckered!
Adultery between married partners: A recession strategy? {Daily Finance}
Jul 28th 2009 4:30PM Coming from the kids point of view. My dad screwed around on my mom for years before the divorce. I had to endure my 8th grade graduation with a classmate of mine telling me she knew my dad really well, cus he dated her mom years ago and were still friends. For all I know I could have a bunch of brothers and sisters in the same town as me and not know it. That's one of the major reasons why I won't date anyone from the town I grew up in. We already suspect one of the kids I graduated from highschool with is my half brother, the kid looks so much alike teachers actually thought we were twins. For all I know my dad screwed around with his mother too. It's not just the dads' doing it...the mom's are doing the same thing too...except nobody blames the mothers' when they step out and cheat! We have a double standard, we blame the wrong people. It's not the people who hook up with the married person...it's the married person who cheats that should get the blame!
Police Taser Deaf, Disabled Man and Call Him Crazy {BV Black Spin}
Jul 28th 2009 2:56PM The police are poorly trained to handle the disabled physically/mentally. Regardless in alot of these cases they made situations worse when they were not aware of the problem the person they were arresting had. If they were trained properly they would be able to see and hear for themselves what is really the situation and handle it properly, the sad result has endend in death for many of the mentally challeneged when they were upset unneccesarily, or were off their medication. If trained they would have had the ability to calm the person down, and get them to a hospital that could properly treat the person rather than put them in a jail system for further abuse.
Twitter, BET Awards and Racism {BV Black Spin}
Jul 1st 2009 5:42PM Well..no matter what anyone says..it's the power you give to those words that make them what they are. I would rather see and know what one is thinking and acting like than be blocked from knowing it because someone else might find it offensive. It's better to be aware than to be kept in the dark in my book.
