Bret and Jemaine should file claim for $78 from Bank of America {WalletPop}

Jan 27th 2009 6:49PM Whether they re-arranged your checks or not, if the total was more than your balance then you had to have written checks or made debits before you actually had the money deposited in your account. "Playing the float", or writing checks ahead of time to plan on depositing before the check is presented, is illegal. Writing checks against insufficient or unavailable funds is illegal. How, exactly, is it the bank's fault when you get caught?

Bret and Jemaine should file claim for $78 from Bank of America {WalletPop}

Jan 27th 2009 6:39PM Here's an idea. Don't spend money before you have it. The suggestion that it's your bank's fault that they paid items before posting your deposit indicates that you wrote checks or other items against the money before you actually had it. They should process your deposits first, presuming you made your deposit before their cut-off time. They shouldn't re-arrange checks from largest to smallest, but they also shouldn't re-arrange them from smallest to largest. I read the information provided by the banks I visited before I made my current choice. You really can't blame an organization if they provide the information ahead of time and you simply choose not to read it.

Sears won't issue refund for TV paid for but never delivered {WalletPop}

Apr 15th 2008 8:38PM It's easy to claim that he never received his television, but does he have any proof? I work in retail, and hear the same kind of thing all day, every day. I can't tell you how many times people buy things, and then return the box with the old item they replaced in it, claiming that's how they found it when they got home. These are often the same people that I helped myself, and even opened the box to show them what was inside and how to install or use it. Plus, who would possibly be stupid enough to buy something for later delivery without some type of documentation to back it up. I could just as easily take any receipt for anything I buy back to a store and claim that I never got it either.

Lonely Planet writer admits he never visited country he wrote about {Gadling}

Apr 13th 2008 10:47AM Maybe that super hottie Megan McCormick should write the books when she travels for the Globe Trekker shows.
