Jun 15th 2011 11:09AM Since, I have inlaws in the suburbs of Detroit, I have been visiting that city for 20 years. The best improvement I have seen in the city since I have been following it first hand is Dave Bing and his plan to shrink the city. Bulldozing most of the abandoned properties will be an addition by subtraction. Another outside the box idea(mine not Dave's) would be to cede some of the peripheral areas of the city over to their neighboring municipality. These cities, towns and villiages are much better positioned to support, rehabilitate and redevelop the additional real estate than the city of Detroit which needs to shrink and contract geographically based upon its inability to maintain the basic city services that residents and businesses should reasonably expect.

If you can't figure that out you are either stupid or naive or both. You gotta like the great smile and the flawless whitened teeth though, and he's so well educated and articulate. Jan 8th 2009 1:36AM Underemployed ? How about someone working 40 hours a week for $12.00 who has made more than $130,000 per year before as a consultant. That is my situation currently. The consulting position was with Arthur Andersen before the Bush administration put Andersen out of business. I was paying more in federal taxes then than I earned in 2008. The good news is for 2008 I expect to pay no federal taxes as a result. I resent not being considered part of the unemployed let alone the underemployed. I still consider myself unemployed.

Jun 6th 2008 2:25PM Like the sign in the attached picture says 85,000(actually about 87,990 of 88,000) NOT GUILTY. I WAS Arthur Andersen. I was not involved with audit nor did I work in Houston. I did lose my job though thanks to David Duncan and everyone in a direct line upstream between he and Joe Beradino. I will never recoup the 11 months of unemployment which followed.
Oh, one other thing the federal prosecution of the firm itself which the US DOJ knew would precipitate the downfall of the firm itself and the loss of the 88,000 jobs was brought to you by Michael Chertoff, the current Director of Homeland Security who also brought you the Hurrican Katrina response fiasco and who also holds responsibility for our defense against terrorism. Feel safer now ?
