Aug 6th 2009 11:54AM How about those sick passengers? I was sick on a flight returning from Las Vegas (YES, it was a baaaad Vegas hangover) and the FAs on Southwest were absolutely wonderful to me. I received sympathetic eyes from all of them, and when I requested a paper towel and a trash bag I was told, "sure Sug, just hang in there, I'll be right back". Of course, I was very polite and nice to them to begin with, so I received the same in return. I LOVE flying Southwest!

I learned a few things from the comments, so I think the article was worthy. As far as the uptight comment about calling it gas, Pfttt. I would have said gas too, knowing full well it's jet fuel.

We used a travel agent to book everything, so thankfully our agent had already booked us on another flight. It was quite shocking to get to the airport and be told the airline you're scheduled to fly on is out of business!

Seriously though, it's obvious from the complete story that he was mistreated by airport police. Why would an 80 yr old man need to be thrown down? Unless as crabby said, his temper went out of controll. I've seen older folks lose their temper, and you can tell they don't give a damn what anybody thinks!

Aug 6th 2008 12:24PM Whew! I read everyone's comments, and I have to conclude that a large number of FA don't like their job one damn bit. I thought the job of an FA is to make our time with the airline as plesant as possible. What is thei "sit down and shut up" mentality I'm hearing from the FA commenting here???
Seriously ladies and gents, if you realize that your job has you calling people foul names and cussing under your breath all day, YOU NEED TO FIND ANOTHER OCCUPATION! Quit yer bitchin and find another job. That IS what the rest of us do. You're not trapped as an FA for the rest of your life...I've had 6 jobs in 20 years. Never went hungry either. All bills paid.
I seriously had no idea that FA were such an unhappy lot. :(
