Fringe: Bad Dreams {TV Squad}
Apr 22nd 2009 11:08AM Very cool. Looks like Olive is a Firestarter, from the burnt room around the little clean area in the video.
Former CNN anchor now works...for The Onion?!? {TV Squad}
Apr 22nd 2009 10:55AM Bah, the onion in now on the US only Hulu site. Oh how I hate Hulu.
20 questions about Panasonic's 150-inch plasma {Engadget HD}
Oct 1st 2008 9:43PM Kilgore,
It is not made out of 9 panels, it is made out of one panel.
The glass being used would normally be cut into 9 pieces for 50" displays.
What you don't want your flight path to look like {Gadling}
Sep 2nd 2008 9:19PM Why fly in circles anyway? You have to land, but why the same airport? Does it really increase any risk to fly to the destination and land there?
Indie Weekend Box Office: Snipped 'Sukiyaki Western Django' Draws First {Cinematical}
Sep 2nd 2008 12:29PM Sukiyaki Western Django was also playing in Vancouver BC this weekend. So it was in at least two theaters in North America.
I enjoyed it, don't know if the version here was edited or not. It was a bit strange that it was in english, but also subtitled.
Blu-ray releases on August 26th, 2008 {Engadget HD}
Aug 26th 2008 3:02PM Was Pale Rider actually released today? When I went to buy it, Future Shop Canada, it was on the shelf but the computer said the release was Sept 9th. They were unable to fix it, seems odd they would have it in stock but not be able to sell it for 2 weeks.
Is there any place that lists Canadian street dates for blu-ray?
The 13 Netflix DVDs still featuring ARccOS copy protection {Engadget HD}
Aug 11th 2008 7:07PM It is just part of Sony's planned obsolescence. If you don't go to blu-ray buy a new DVD player so you can play our DVDs with new and improved DRM.
Dollhouse gets a new pilot, and co-ed showers {TV Squad}
Jul 22nd 2008 3:13PM For most series it take a while for the cast to come together, redoing the pilot is probably a good thing. Speaking of Buffy did you see the original pilot? They changed up some of the actors for the real start. The pilot was pretty bad.
Journey To The Center Of The Earth gained more revenue from 3D than 2D {Engadget HD}
Jul 16th 2008 1:22PM It was certainly more expensive, $16, instead of the normal $13. $3 for a pair of clean scratch free glasses is a pretty good deal, even if they are a bit small, but then I have a big head and another pair of glasses I had to put them over.
Unlike Mr E. I saw lots of ghosting on things in the distance, the most noticeable things where some white signs/paper in the lab at the beginning of the film. Maybe there is some tuning needed on the projection side, or some glasses have better polarization then others
I was a bit surprised to find it in 3D at a non IMAX theater, and I only watched it because of the 3D.
The Exhibitionist: Worst Moviegoing Experience in Years {Cinematical}
Jul 13th 2008 9:49PM The worst projection issue I have had was and the PenMar Cinema in Penticton, watching Night at the Museum. For the first half of the film the film was so low on the screen you could see all the booms and the top of the sets. After I complained they moved it so high no one had heads.
Not a very good film, made much worse by the theater. I haven't been to the PenMar since.
