Hargeisa: a capital in search of a country {Gadling}
May 16th 2010 8:49AM Sean, I contribute regularly to FOTW. I agree that it's a great site, and that your four year son sounds like a great vexillologist. In any case, I'm still hoping to find a GOOD QUALITY Somaliland flag to add to my collection...

May 15th 2010 11:19AM Can anyone out there help me to get a large-size Somaliland Flag that was made in Somaliland? The polyester cheap-ohs available on ebay are not my thing.
BTW, I support Somaliland Independence Recognition!
Ex-Scientologist Reveals Details Behind 'Dangerous Cult,' Tom Cruise in New Book {PopEater}
May 14th 2010 8:57AM If the revelations in this book are true, then this person David Miscavige is extremely dangerous. Maybe not in the same "direct" way as Al Qaida, but just as cold-blooded...
Don't Play Ball With State of Arizona {Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone}
May 1st 2010 4:16PM This tactic will do the same thing to AZ as SC: get their backs up. You forget that the SC government compromised on the Confederate Flag when it removed it from the capital dome and set it up behind a Confederate War Memorial. The people of South Carolina approved, yet the NAACP and the NCAA did not know the meaning of the word 'compromise' and continued the boycott, totally ignoring the wishes of the people of South Carolina. I noticed that Mississippi didn't have any boycotts because of the Confederqte Flag in the canoton of their state flag, because the people wanted their flag unchanged. RESPECT THE PEOPLE'S WISHES, or you won't get any respect back!
Speak No Evil? How to Get Kids to Talk About Bullying {ParentDish}
Apr 20th 2010 10:25PM Being a victim of school bullying throughout my youth, I can really feel for those who are going through what I went through. In my case, it was worse because the system encouraged it. In a couple of cases, the teachers and principals actually punished me for speaking out about it and ended up rewarding the bullies! My parents told me to put up with bullying as it is the only way to "be a man". Never mind the fact that my older brothers continued the practice at home...
Bullying is terrorism plain and simple. Until the system understands this, more and more kids are going to suffer, and some of those will end up killing themselves.
Constance McMillen: Mississippi's Pro-Gay Prom Rebel is a Hero {Politics Daily}
Apr 18th 2010 9:17PM Proms are for EVERYBODY to enjoy, and while there should be certain things enforced (such as dress code), having to force people to restrict themselves to certain date types on the basis of race, physical/mental physical status, or sexual orientation is wrong. Particularly in a public school.
