Jul 2nd 2012 1:07PM We use Red Roof Inns on a regular basis. You have to understand that they are not the Hilton or the Ritz Carlton...But for the price you get a clean and comfortable no-frills room. Here in the Michigan area they are in the process of refurbishing their motels..one at a time and usually give a re-opening special price to regular users.
Winter holiday prices have been $40.00 per night and over Christmas they give 2nd night for $10.00
Last week I paid $60.00 (summer prices) for a double near DTW Metro airport
I did have a complaint once ( last Fall) about a sticky toilet that took 15 or 20 minutes to recycle between flushes. When I e-mailed my complaint I received a personal call from that manager and a voucher for a free night. Like most of life..present your problem in a reasonable manner and you'll get a reasonable response.
Apr 26th 2010 6:37PM Who's checking??..The usual suspects: Purdue, Tyson, the California Growers Association, the Suburban Princess who just hired a new pool boy and two new gardeners. The same people who for twenty years have pressured Immigration/ICE to make a phone call or two at least 24 hours before their next raid.
Apr 7th 2010 12:27PM Airlines should have been charging for carry-ons a long time ago. People coming on with so much "carry-on" that you can't find a place for your overcoat in the overhead. Sitting in your seat with your life being threatened by fools trying to lift 40 pounds of whatever over your head.
Mar 29th 2010 11:49AM You're confusing what you are actually doing when booking online.
YOU are booking your choice of hotel, then YOU choose your car rental agency, and YOU pick which airline to fly, and YOU choose guided tours and itinerary. Or you call a travel agent and have that person do that work for you.
Mar 29th 2010 11:29AM For the past hundred years every large newspaper and news service has prepared a file of ready-to-go Obits on living politicians, celebrities, top people in business, etc. Cub reporters first job would be to constantly update those file Obits. Many of the "columnists" that youy're reading on line have little or no formal reportorial training, they're just gossip hounds willing to work cheap on the internet.
Mar 13th 2010 7:19PM Never heard of that show...HBO or Lifetime or where?
Jan 11th 2010 8:41PM Okay..so you can't spell or properly construct a sentence but I'm suppose to believe that you have something credible to say?
Oct 29th 2009 10:42PM Look again..the swastika was painted on the PHOTO..

Oct 11th 2009 6:14PM Mesaman...
Larry Craig couldn't have said it any better.

Feb 3rd 2009 3:18PM There are several excellent County Fairs in Michigan that could pick up the slack. Just transfer the State Fair Name and pick a place more centrally located to agriculture than the old Detroit Fair Grounds. Hastings, Saginaw or even Traverse City would be good...or up to the Upper Peninsula fairgrounds.
Put it somewhere safe and people will support it.
