Jan 8th 2011 10:15AM I'm sorry, I don't care what the rules say, this condo board should have backed off as soon as the doctor wrote the note. Are these people nuts? What harm can it do to the condo association to let the couple keep the cat as a "service" cat? Years ago, I moved into an apartment without asking about the pet policy. Apparently, they had a no pet policy. (The building now allows both dogs and cats.) I had an old cat that I didn't want to give up. When it was discovered that I had the cat, I was told to get rid of it or move. I wrote to the building owners and they gave me permission to keep the cat. (Actually, I had found out that there was a mouse problem in the building. Eventually, my cat actually found two mice!) I later found out that half of the building had pets! I am so glad that I took action and was able to keep my pet. I hope someone steps in and either finds these people another place to stay or finds a legal loop hole that allows them to keep the cat!

Dec 29th 2010 1:14PM This is ridiculous. No one who can truly call himself a Christian could think that execution is the "just" penalty for killing dogs. What Vick did was horrible and he has paid a great price for his crimes. Try being in prison for just a few days and see how painful it is to lose your freedom. I do wish that he was given time in community service to help out at a shelter so he could see, first hand, what cruelty to animals is really like.
I have serious concerns about Mr. Carlson who does not seem to be of the same mind set as the Man who forgave the prostitute and who always seemed to say that God wants and expects his creatures to forgive.

May 2nd 2008 11:07AM Like several comments I am reading, I too now believe this whole campaign of Obama’s was set up by certain people in the Democratic Party who wanted someone they could control and lead as the nominee and possible president. They tried to sell Hillary down the river and remove the Clintons as party leaders. I am a lifelong Democrat who is now disgusted with the party. If Hillary is not the nominee, I will vote Republican. Even if I do not agree with all of McCain’s ideas, he is his own man and I will not tolerate more years of inexperience in the White House!!

Baracks's own words to his pastor, as quoted in a CNN article, indicate that he was aware of Wright's views and realized that he might, someday, have to distance himself from Wright. This makes Obama a liar when he first said that he was not aware of Wright's opinions and Obama's current behavior indicates that he is, after all, just another political trying to get elected. He used Wright to get a foothold in the African American community when that was what he needed and now disavows him because politically Wright is no longer needed nor is an asset to Obama’s campaign.
So I ask...How is Obama’s behavior different from that of any other politician?

I think you nailed it. Senator Obama is first, and foremost, a politician who has come up with a brilliant strategy. Be a man running against a woman, be black enough to get the support of the African-Americans, and white enough to get the support of upper middle class whites (He looks and talks like someone who live in most upper middle class neighborhoods). He can’t completely disown his pastor because he would lose black support. His speech was meant to hold on to his upper middle class support. The media can't back down. They can't admit that they may have made a mistake in glorifying him. From now one, it will be up to the people of America. I hope and pray that most Americans can see past the media support and Senator Obama's beautiful words and support someone who has worked hard all of her life, has been a respected senator, (respected by both democrats and republicans) and who we know would make a great president.
Go Hillary!!!
(By the way, has anyone noticed that Senator Obama sounds best when he gives a prepared speech and makes big mistakes "typical white person???" when he is off the cuff??)
