Hotels That Serve Glorified Prison Food For Breakfast {Gadling}

Aug 18th 2012 10:33AM The breakfasts at the Hilton Garden Inn include made to order omelets, as does the Embassy Suites. Juice/milk is cold, and there's plenty of fresh fruit and cut up fruit. They bake their bacon, rather than fry. Sausage is usually "ok". I love their breakfasts. Holiday Inn Express has the "already prepared" food, and it does tend to be yucky, but often they will have fresh fruit and yogurt- which is a good choice. The prices for these hotels is usually slightly more than a Motel 6 or Days Inn (because of the amount of traveling we do) but with the great beds and good breakfasts the additional dollars make it worth it. With breakfasts starting at $6 without juice/coffee at a local Denny's and more at a restaurant, staying at a Hilton property is still cheaper.

Try This: Getting Kids Out of Bed in the Morning {ParentDish}

Mar 30th 2011 2:14PM Something that I have found very helpful as a parent and to my parents of 8th graders... set the alarm clock to an agreed upon time. If the child fails to get up at the agreed time, set their bedtime 15 minutes earlier. If they continue just keep rolling their bedtimes back. Make sure you have their phones/computers.. Trust me, a 7pm bedtime for a week will motivate kids to change.
It's effective and works as long as you stay focused on the behavior. Don't get mad... simply state the facts, and roll the bedtime back.
Kids are smart, they'll turn around.

Kathy Griffin's Newest Palin to Pounce On? Willow, 16 {PopEater}

Carrie Fisher Talks Losing Her Father, Her Ongoing Treatment, Lindsay Lohan and 'Wishful Drinking' {AOL TV}

Dec 10th 2010 8:55PM Saw "Wishful Drinking" on stage at UC Berkley about a year ago. So incredibly funny! I was Carrie's age when she did Star Wars, and loved the movie. She has always struck me as someone with a strong personality and very talented. Am looking forward to the HBO special!

What Happens if You Decline a Full Body Scan? {AOL Travel News}

Nov 17th 2010 8:05AM We need the military to take over this area of security because TSA is a joke, run by a bunch of non-English speaking, $10/hour employees. Let the military do it , and do it with dogs. Shouldn't be a problem. I am so flippin tired of this country being politically correct. WHY should Muslim women NOT be treated the same as the rest of us? I'm all for profiling... Why not have us register for the retinal eye checks? They're quick and easy. and non-invasive.

What's It Like to Have Don Knotts for a Dad? {PopEater}

Oct 10th 2010 10:44AM "The Incredible Mr. Limpett" is STILL one of my most favorite childhood movies. It's just so fun! Don Knotts was a wonderfully funny man!

On 'Teach,' Tony Danza Literally Sweats Through His First Day of School (VIDEO) {AOL TV}

Oct 4th 2010 9:52AM yep, another gal commented on that too. That is great. I just saw the snippet from this web site, and it was painful to watch. I remember crying my first year too, but that was at 3am when I was dog tired, and still had papers to finish grading. I love teaching, but it takes a ton of work that few realize.... I hope he can do a good job. I didn't find the principals "talk" offensive. I'm glad she said what she did. Her first concern is her kids- as it should be!

Oct 4th 2010 8:18AM WHERE is your mentor teacher Tony??? NO no should be there "all by themselves". New teachers go through 1 semester under the guidance of a university mentor, PLUS a classroom mentor. Throwing a new teacher out there with no support is the number 1 reason why new teachers fail. Teaching is also something you can not wing! Have very specific, timed, lesson plans. The more you plan, the better the lesson will be and the easier the day will go. It takes about 2+ hours of planning for every hour you are in the classroom. MORE if you are a new teacher. And yes, the first year is definitely the toughest... and the one you will remember the most. You CAN become a successful teacher after 40, and do it well, but you need a support system, and it doesn't look like you have one.

Murder-Cycles Simply Not Child's Play {Fanhouse Motorsports Blog}

Aug 31st 2010 10:26AM my son started riding in 6th grade at age 10. he quickly grew from his little bike to a much bigger (the same size he dad rode)at age 11. Dad, nor I ever pushed him- it was all him. And when he crashed and need 15 stitches in chin, they took photos like it was a trophy. I've never seen him so happy. At 16, while playing football (o-line), he suffered a major concussion, and ended up seeing double for 24 hours. He never felt the same about football. Now at 20, he's saving for a street bike, which I'm sure he will have in 3 months. That worries me more than his dirt bike racing, or football.
