Backpacking through Europe: The basics {Gadling}

Mar 4th 2008 6:49PM Would it be wise to book hostels 2-3 days in advance when backpacking in July? We already have an itinerary and a pretty good idea of how long we want to stay in each city, but we don't want this trip to be too structured. My concern is that we'll have a hard time finding hostels on short notice in July (as we all know, it is a big travel month).
