Report: Lance Armstrong Caught With Drugs by Customs Officials in 2003 {Fanhouse Main}

Jan 18th 2011 11:57PM Move on. If Landis can't come up with something more substantial than "the same old tires from the same old liars," it's time to move on. Armstrong has been under tremendous scrutiny for a long time. Guilty or not, he seems to have weathered the storm. As long as the cycling world is on notice and everyone is aware of the rules, I don't have a bunch of sympathy for guys that get caught. I hope all atheletes would run clean but there are clearly cheats. Some of the "best" have paid a high price for their big names. Getting caught makes it all go away and shines a whole different light on them. Preach the long view.

Kelly Osbourne Tells Shape: 'I Stopped Hating the Way I Looked' {PopEater}

Nov 17th 2010 7:49PM Congrats kid! I've missed most of your media circus but can imagine it wasn't easy growing up in the midst of it. Healthy is such a great message. I'm glad to see anyone getting it. Hang in there!

50 Cent Teams Up With Keenan Cahill {PopEater}

Nov 10th 2010 11:22AM Weird, I just flashed on an interview that Gary Coleman did as kid on America 2 Night about a million years ago. Good luck little dude. Stay in school and get a real life.

Andy Irons, Professional Surf Champion, Found Dead at 32 {Fanhouse Main}

Nov 3rd 2010 1:58AM Dengue is a nasty virus. It's carried by mosquitos in tropical climates. It's like a horrible flu but it takes weeks to get over. Once you've been infected and go through it, the next time you get it the symptoms compound. Fever, nausia and horrible weakness are the obvious symptoms. You can get a weird rash as well. Dehydration is probably the easiest way to die with this thing. I'm on strike two. I've not been close to death but more than once during the times I was sick I would have considered it worthwhile relief. A guy like Andy was probably trying to gut it out or just didn't realize how sick he was. It will shut down your organs. I'm sure he'll be missed. Our prayers are with his family.

The Marie Claire 'Fat People' Story Calls for Therapy, Not an Apology {Lemondrop}

Oct 27th 2010 10:53PM What a lie. Do you repeat this to yourself? I can diet all day long and not lose an ounce. Are you kidding me? The one you are kidding is you. You've played that tape so many times that's it has worn a groove into your brain. Stop it. It's not true. If you eat a healthy diet and exercise, you will lose weight. It won't be easy. It will be work. You've conditioned yourself to over indulge and it has to stop or you will die from this. There are lots of ways to die and we all will die but chose a more noble way to go out than sick and miserable.

Oct 27th 2010 10:46PM What airey fairy garbage. What you've said is at the heart of the issue. Obesity is not about asthetics. Fat kills and debilitates. Great, you are doing something about your fat issues. Well done. I agree we don't need to be rude or mean spirited with the overweight but we don't need to let it pass. Fat people should not feel comfortable in their skin anymore than they should feel comfortable with someone waving a loaded gun in their face. I don't propose any new legislation. I don't see any reason to make fat people resistent food containers but I am not going to pretend to a loved one that it's okay that they are killing themselves with food. "But I'm taking meds that make me fat." Great, for the one in a thousand that are in that position, I'm very sorry. For the vast majority that simply can't keep food out of their mouths or find their way to a walk around he block, quit making excuses and quit pretending it's okay. You are airey fairying and happy jollying yourselves into an ugly-early grave. We love you enough to say so.

Oct 27th 2010 10:15PM Firstly, it's a public forum. It would be very quiet if no one responded. Secondly, I woke up last year and I was at 300lbs. On my 5'93/4" frame that pretty much meant morbidly obese. I could not run as the damage to my knees, ankles and hips would have offset any weight loss. I bought a second hand bike and started riding. Later I started swimming and in March I was down 50lbs and started walking. I can now run a 10k, ride well over 100 miles in under 7 hours and swim 3 miles. Next year, when I turn 50, I will run my first, and perhaps my last Iron Man at under 200lbs. My long term goal? I want to stay under 190 lbs and stay active the rest of my life. I didn't jump on a fad diet. I didn't see a surgeon. I quit drinking soda and eating junk calories. Excercise and a healthy diet. It wasn't easy. It didn't happen over night. In the beginning I had to argue myself onto my bike, into the pool or onto the road. Lately, I only have to argue about half the days. Ha! The good news is that I won't always have to be so dedicated. My diet won't change much as I haven't done much but cut out excessive sweets and lower other carbs from rice, potatoes...etc. Finally, what motivated me? It wasn’t how bad I looked. Even at 300lbs I am built like a god. ; ) I have a 6 year old son and a grand daughter I want to see grow up. I also found out about stroke and diabetes. Fat people do themselves no favor and cost the rest of us in increased insurance premiums and taxes, not to mention the pain of seeing a loved one sick. I will never be a gray hound. I have a bull dog frame. Relaxed fit will always be my middle name but I know how to avoid becoming obese again. I have always been big but I don’t have to be sick. We don’t do the obese any favors when we just let it pass. Over eating is an addiction and we as a species have a natural tendency toward it. We don’t give drunks a pass. We don’t give junkies a pass. For our own sakes and the sake of our loved ones, we need to quit giving the obese a pass.

Oct 27th 2010 9:39PM What a crock. Fat is a simple calculation, calories in and calories burned. I have one of those metabolisms that burns everything and stores everything. I have to be extra careful what I eat and I must excercise. That is my only option for keeping weight off. Quit making excueses for yourself. You've chosen to be fat and endure the comments. Don't pretend for a minute that you are eating and exercising in a way that is healthy. Clearly, if you are obese it is not. Quit making excuses.

Oct 27th 2010 9:16PM Oh that's right! I remember just this morning, telling my children, "Don't grow up big and fat. Grow up normal like Charlie Sheen or Lindsey Lohan!" Yes those people have it all together and we celebrate their freedom to ruin themselves and the damage the people that love them. What a blessing to have such normal people to whom we can direct our wide bodied kids. I feel much better now. Thank you.
