Oct 12th 2009 8:22AM I travel every week for business. I always tip the housekeeping staff. Yes, in an ideal world, they would make enough money to not need one. However, you not leaving a tip does not change that. It just makes you look like a cheapskate. The service industry operates with low salaries with the expectation that 15-20% more will come from tips.
This is not a "hidden charge". Everyone should expect to tip housekeeping regardless what rate they pay for their room.
If you can't afford to tip housekeeping then stay at home. Alternatively, leave the DND tag on the door and leave the room as you found it.

Why would you buy an iPhone for the sole purpose of running Linux? The iPhone OS is a huge part of what makes it unique.
New Jersey Apple Store ready to open {TUAW.com}
Mar 27th 2008 10:16PM Philadelphia probably lacks an Apple Store because our unions suck (they protest everything). Also, there is no real shopping district that would be good for an Apple Store. South Street is not the right crowd, Center City mostly office buildings, and The Gallery is the most ghetto mall ever. Apple probably made the right choice opening the store in KoP, it is an upscale shopping center and they fit right in.
