TSA pulls pants off of elderly man during search {Gadling}

Jul 28th 2008 3:33PM While I DO NOT in any way advocate TSA abuses of power, I do take issue with those who claim that the TSA accomplishes nothing. Anyone who has five minutes can log on to the TSA website and see (right on the home page) a brief outline of the incidents of the past week. For instance, last week there were 22(!) firearms found at checkpoints. Does this justify the power trips of TSA inspectors, which by the way are the same power trips as many police officers, IRS agents, Immigration agents, public school employees, and building inspectors have? No, of course not. However, anyone who claims that the TSA accomplishes nothing is an idiot.

Megabus coaches to go double decker {Gadling}

Jun 17th 2008 5:40PM This isn't news. Megabus already operates double-decker buses between Detroit/Ann Arbor and Chicago...I see them on I-94 every day. I took Megabus several weeks ago on the Ann Arbor-Chicago route, and I was mildly disappointed. Apparently, demand is so high on Fridays that they use additional buses. So, instead of getting my nice double-decker bus with free wifi, I ended up on a cramped old "Coach USA" bus. Still, it was cheap enough that I can't complain...I would take it again. It seems pretty popular, every single seat was full.

Everywhere Magazine: Because travel is all around you (win a free subscription!) {Gadling}

Mar 25th 2008 9:06AM The Ontario shoreline of Lake Superior is AMAZING...and there is no one there! There are canyons, gorges, waterfalls, rivers, beaches, and all kinds of beautiful scenery. Lots of wildlife (I saw two wolves standing next to the highway the last time I was there), and great hiking. If you're ever in northern Michigan, just cross the bridge in Sault Ste. Marie into Canada and go straight north...there's only one highway, you can't miss it!

Let's not complain about the price of gas here {Gadling}

Mar 12th 2008 5:10PM Exactly. Places like Kuwait and Saudi Arabia pay between 10 cents and a dollar for gas because its so government subsidized...so compared to them, we can complain! How come no one ever mentions this side of the argument?

Passport photos for cheap {Gadling}

Feb 29th 2008 10:27AM I did my own. Just followed the directions; made sure there was a white background, no smile, and the right size. I printed it on regular photo paper, and turned it in...no one ever complained!
