Brooks & Dunn Backup Singer Pranks Her Bosses {The Boot}
Oct 22nd 2010 1:15AM Julia - If you could find a look-alike, have come out at the right time (dressed in the same outfit you're wearing) and sing her parts waaaay off key or chime in during the wrong moments. As they're wondering what's going on, you come out on stage laughing and present them each with a "thanks" gift.
Whatever you do, best wishes -

A Eulogy for My Father: The Life and Lessons of Sherburt Sheldon Weiss {Politics Daily}

Original Beatles Drummer Pete Best Tells His Side of the Fab Four Story {Spinner}
Sep 8th 2009 2:06AM Nice interview, despite the repetition. BUT - the phrase in the first sentence should be "perceived wisdom" not "received wisdom". Small point but important for writers ...
Deer Jumps Over Biker {AOL Video Blog}
Aug 27th 2007 1:33PM Sorry, but I think this is a very clever fake. The lighting and coloring of the deer looks a little off to me - especially as it leaps - when compared to the rest of the scenery. I'm a media guy and I've ridden motorcycles all my life. Bikers aren't "trained" to not use their brakes. I've taken several safety courses and it never came up. While I'd probably use the brakes in a different way then a car, it's impossible to completely curtail the natural reaction to stop or try to avoid a road obstacle. Not one person in the video flinches, not even a tap on the brakes.
I don't buy it.
Limbaugh: Classless Players Look Like Bloods and Crips {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Jan 21st 2007 6:30PM Mr. Limbaugh has stated the obvious. However, if he believes his actions and the actions of other media whores is exemplary, he might want to do a rest on his career.
Married three times
Convicted drug addict
Smuggling prescription drugs on a trip
Fired from ESPN
Hardly the stuff of a "class" individual. We won't soon see the end of pro athlete antics and my guess is that we haven't seen the last of Limbaugh's missteps as well.
Did the K-Ball Cost the Cowboys the Game? {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Jan 7th 2007 9:35PM Living in Seattle, I'm a Seahawks fan. Most fans think the Seahawks got a raw deal in last years Super Bowl but Mike Holmgren was right when he pointed out that if you score enough points - make the plays you're supposed to make - you don't have to worry about bad calls or last-second cardiac showdowns. One of the posters here was correct when they said the safety was the big play. When that happened, I knew the Seahawks had a shot because Hasslebeck is a cool QB and if they get within 50 yards, Josh Brown can turn off the lights. The safety absolutely limited the choices the Cowboys had.
Romo had a lot of swagger early on. He looked like a lost child last night. But nearly every legendary QB stunk their first season or two. It will be tough for him in Dallas - he may even be better off traded - but I think he shows a lot of promise.
The Seahawks are now a dangerous team. Like a wild animal you shoot at and wound and then have to go into the jungle to finish the job, these guys feel like anything can happen and it's ALL gravy from here on. Win or lose. I'm thinking the upcoming Seahawks-Bears game will be just as exciting.
Oprah's New Plane {Luxist}
Jun 6th 2006 2:11AM Wow. Oprah is one of the few folks on the planet I truly detest. And other posters here have pretty much summed it up, although I could go on for pages.
But far more frightening than the deification of Mother Oprah is the atrocious syntax and spelling of many posters here, particularly those in Oprah's Peanut Gallery. One more reason I'm glad I can pretty much hide out, here in the woods. I can't run from all the ignorance on this planet but I sure can avoid a great deal of it.
Now, let's discuss something REALLY important: do you think Oprah should get the Nobel Peace Prize?
