Mar 24th 2009 7:07PM My suggestion for "fixing" the economy is to first, get all the bankers to agree on a scheme whereby they hyper-inflate the perceived value of crappy loans... oh wait.

Bigpoint is poised and ready to invade US markets {Massively}
Dec 16th 2008 5:26AM Yeah, they've got about a dozen or more browser-based MMOs. Their biggest ones (in terms of online audience/popularity) are:
- Seafight (http://seafight.bigpoint.com)
- Dark Orbit (http://darkorbit.bigpoint.com)
Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem, the DRM of the future? {Engadget}
Sep 13th 2008 8:55PM Oh yeah Samuel...right on target there. So many people neglect to notice what a huge success the Zune is against the iPod, how copying Mac and Linux OS features has helped Vista so much. Yep - barnstorming success those boys have had.

Sep 13th 2008 7:01PM Apple's noticeably absent from the list precisely BECAUSE this group has formed to "combat Apple's dominance". I've been part of several studio meetings in the formation of Open Market, and it's primary purpose (though not public position) is to break Apple's perceived control of the retail channel.
This is SO doomed to fail, not because of Apple (love 'em or hate 'em), but because the basic motivating principle behind this is;
- not unity
- not (honestly) a better customer experience
- not increased revenues for the artists
It's just basic vengeance. Business plans built on that rarely succeed.
A tour of Sarah Palin's hometown: Wasilla, Alaska {Gadling}
Sep 8th 2008 8:06PM well... being a Senator for 174 some-odd days before you leave to go kick off your Presidential campaign doesn't exactly inspire confidence either.
And his 'experience' as a State Senator in my home state of Illinois is nothing comparable either. He ran unopposed (since he had his staff play legal loopholes to get everyone else kicked off the ballot)... where he voted "present" most of the time. For the US Senate he ran against a Republican who was under investigation at the time.
Say what you will about Palin, at least she actually *competed* in an election.
Oh, and one last thing... for all the talk about "change", at least McCain has gone against his own party on issues of principle many, many times. Palin's history shows a penchant for the same in both local politics as well as the Governor's race.
Can any Obama supporters here specify a *SINGLE* time where Obama or Biden actually went against their own party, based on a matter of principle?
...anyone? Bueller?... Bueller?...

Sep 2nd 2008 11:45AM Wow... does this also use GPS to establish your position? I would think a few steps in any direction would establish which way you're "pointing" (as the iPhone doesn't have a compass)
Oregon begins building first "solar highway" project {Engadget}
Aug 17th 2008 12:01PM @Setnev; No -- you're missing the point. That same $1.3mm could be used to buy energy for the NEXT 100 YEARS+. It's not some free pile of money sitting around somewhere that just magically appeared out of thin air -- it's money that came from Oregon resident's taxes. Government has a fiduciary responsibility to not waste it on boondoggle grandstanding projects. They would be FAR better off buying $1.3mm worth of renewable energy on the open market if they really were concerned about environment / costs / etc.
