The Shoe Bomber Says He, Not Aunt Lynn, Is Going to Heaven {News Bloggers}

Aug 2nd 2007 3:54PM To look at the world around us, its exquisite order balance, from the micro of DNA to the macro of string theory and the marvelous harmony of the galaxy and believe that this world is "happenstance" is just as gullible as the fellow who scavenged a bucket of brass, and stainless steel scraps, and tripped. Upon picking up the pieces to his great surprise the scrap had organized itself into a Rolex!!!!!!
If one believes there's an "organizing principle" to the universe, please demonstrate such.
If not, say quietly, there are mysteries beyond my knowledge but they sure do look intelligent....

What the Connecticut Murders Say About Good and Evil {News Bloggers}

Jul 26th 2007 6:57PM Either way, free will or genes-determined-behaviour, you fry these two guys. Or you tie them to a bed, pour gasoline around them and set them alight..
If you chose to do this evil, society executes you, partially to prevent further evil and partially as justice. If your genes made you perform this evil act, then society executes you because your genes cannot be altered, either that or a lobotomy is performed to prevent any sort of future planning on your part, and thereby protect society. There are many explanations for evil, but justice demands execution. God is merciful, but the state cannot be.

Giving kids financial gifts {ParentDish}

Dec 6th 2006 3:06PM What about getting your children a job making sweatshirts, oh say...when they are about six or seven and taking one half of everything they make and saving it for them in an undisclosed location. This way you'll have something for them when they start college.

World's 10 Most Polluted Places 2006 {Gadling}

Oct 25th 2006 3:45PM Is pollution concomitant with intellectual babbling and whining? What about rap music? Now there's a contaminant no amount of soap or recycling can correct.............

World's 10 Most Polluted Places 2006 {Gadling}

Oct 25th 2006 3:42PM As an expert on pollution, I live in a tyre recycling plant and breathe burning rubber daily, I feel slighted. Of course my eyes water incessantly, my lungs are as raw as fresh ground hamburger and my productive cough awakens distant relatives, still I love it here! Please include Tyre and Sidon Recycling on the Thames in one of your next tours of smokey destinations, we'll all be smiling. You can tell I'm smiling by the contrast of my pearly white teeth with my midnight black face, smudged and oily. thanks

Slum Tourism {Gadling}

Oct 16th 2006 3:26PM Here in America, recent impoverished immigrants rise from rags to riches because of capitalism. Capitalism is the best way to provide the most people with necessary goods and services. Christianity is the system of belief that is the most likely to provide a merciful social structure. Capitalism is a merciless economic system. Christianity is the revelation of God to a lost world that offers grace and joy, and encourages us to treat others as we would like to be treated..the golden rule. Christianity in its pure-ist form also offers men the power to change their black hearts and to live Christ like lives as they engage the risen Christ. One without the other does not deliver maximum economic advantage, and the two should not be connected. "Synergy" is the word.

Slum Tourism {Gadling}

Oct 16th 2006 3:20PM Brandon, you are NOT an idiot, but very near. The main source of poverty is abusive govt.s, stupid govt.s, corrupt govt.s, and has nothing to do with America. The recent Nobel prize recipient who began granting 90 dollar loans to the impoverished, so they could buy chickens, dairy cows or cell phones, has introduced the idea that acess to capital is also a wonderful way out of poverty. CAPITALISM WORKS EVERYWHERE!!!!! Go bankers, loan money like crazy!!!!

Slum Tourism {Gadling}

Oct 16th 2006 2:51PM Slum tourism has all the elements of drama and need combined. Exposure to the plight of others always is of benefit to us, the blessed of the FIRST world. Generally the issue of deep poverty is almost always a function of lousy, corrupt govts and abusive social systems. Read "Eat the Rich" by P J O'Rourke and understand why Tanzania with immense natural resources has not enough potatoes to give everyone a chip, and Hong Kong, nothing but a rocky island is wealthy beyond your wildest imagination, then rejoice.
