Review: Virgin Mobile MiFi 2200 and $40 unlimited 3G Broadband2Go plan {Gadling}
Sep 5th 2010 11:22AM Seems like there are many conversations going on at
http://www.EVDOforums.com
on this exact topic and not everyone is seeing usable speeds.
The biggest issue with the MiFi, is going to be the battery life for many mobile "heavy users". There is a cool new battery that allows the MiFi (Virgin/Sprint/Verizon) to last 12+ hours or more:

Let Automator answer your telephone {TUAW.com}
Jun 1st 2005 2:34PM I have been using PhoneValet by Parliant for the last 1 1/2 years and it does a lot of this and so much more. Here is what my PhoneValet has been doing for the last year. Phone rings, iTunes running on my other computer (not hooked up to PhoneValet) pauses. Safari does a Google of the phone number, another Safari window shows me the city and state of the incoming call. Another Safari window shows me if they have ordered anything from us. Caller ID pops up on the screen. An instant message is sent to my SideKick. Now it is time for the 2nd ring. After I hang up, iTunes starts back up. http://www.parliant.com/

May 13th 2005 12:24PM One issue with using a BlueTooth phone, is that bluetooth built into the phone is TOO slow for EVDO. The new PBs have BlueTooth 2.0, not sure if any available phones have that yet. You would be limited yourself with BlueTooth - so a USB cable and your PB12 may be the answer: http://www.evdoforums.com/about144.html
Retrospect Gets Tiger Updates {TUAW.com}
May 6th 2005 1:15PM I have been WAITING for this upgrade before upgrading to Tiger and it has crashed every night, so it isn't working. Many others have had the same problems, see: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10479

Apr 8th 2005 8:14PM Here is something to check out. If the built-in Airport connector is a PCMCIA adapter, it may be possible to replace it with a PC 5220 EVDO card, problem, is that the keyboard may not be able to be replaced. You need a EVDO internal card that also has built-in Airport. As EVDO starts popping up all over, maybe this will become an option.

Apr 8th 2005 7:53PM If you are going to use your phone as an unlimited data to your PowerBook, you DO need an unlimited data plan. Search on http://www.EVDOforus.com, some guy got a $1400 bill for a month, becuase he didn't have an unlimited plan.
Me and my toys...Sidekick II {Blog Maverick}
Jan 24th 2005 8:12PM I used to use a BlackBerry, been using a SideKick for almost 2 years now, the SK is the ultimate communications device. Now with OutLook Sync, it does everything (and more), that I need it to. I love being able to access my servers remotely even SSH into them if needed.
