Mar 10th 2013 8:59PM What the.............? When did Nassau become one of the counties of NYC? Does that mean I no longer have to pay $15 for beach access?!?!?!?!?!?!
Tenants at Brooklyn's Greenpoint Hotel Battle Squalor and Landlord {AOL Real Estate}
Mar 9th 2013 5:46PM Gumbo, don't assume that people already living in the boonies actually want them there. As someone who was born and raised in the middle of nowhere until moving to NYC, people in small/rural towns protect their land...viciously. They don't want any outsiders coming in, near, or around them -- even if "near" means 5 miles away.
4 Big Travel Fears And How To Overcome Them {Gadling}
Feb 21st 2013 11:05PM Benzo's and alcohol help...a lot. Just don't travel alone so someone can help you stumble off the plane. As someone who bursts into tears and flow blown panic attacks at the slightest bit of turbulence or change in engine noise, sometimes you have to completely force yourself to be uncomfortable for several hours to enjoy the reward at the end. It's pure torture, but worth it.
Kevin Judd's 'Party Rock Anthem' Halloween House-Display Banned by HOA {AOL Real Estate}
Oct 25th 2012 9:09PM This was really cool, but, I don't think I'd want to be his neighbors -- unless it became a neighborhood thing like the Christmas displays here in Dyker Heights.

Oct 27th 2011 7:04PM I'm a college graduate, so I could never afford a real home. Maybe I should look into one of these.
Pippa Gaining Ground on Top Baby Name List in 2011 {ParentDish}
Jul 29th 2011 10:24PM That's a good theory, but I think it has more to do with the fact that my dog's name is Luna...or at least that's what I'd like to think (who was born in 2002, before the book with her in it even came out). =)
Pregnant Man Sheds Baby Weight, Shows Off New Bod {ParentDish}
Jul 28th 2011 11:31PM Actually, it makes "her" female, not a woman. Woman/man is a social term, female/male is a biological term. So technically, he is still a man, with female parts.
What Your Mess Says About You (and How to Change It) {Shelterpop}
Jul 8th 2011 3:42PM A mess confined just to a closet doesn't make someone a hoarder. A mess confined to the closets kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, living room, hallways, patio, backyard, porch, basement, and guest room makes someone a hoarder.

Antipsychotics Have Dramatic Consequences in Kids, Study Shows {ParentDish}
Jun 22nd 2011 9:35AM I really wish this was known when I was in high-school, it would have saved a lot of frustratation -- medication is a slippery slope with kids. I started off on a low dose of Paxil for depression and anxiety when I was 15 -- a year later, it snowballed into so many different med's that I was MORE suicidal, MORE depressed, and MORE aggressive...before these meds, I was shy, laid-back, in the honors program, and into sports. They had me on Zyprexa, Risperdal, Klonpin, Paxil, Neurontin, and Seroquel all at the same time -- I ended up gaining 50lbs in a little over a month (50lbs!!!!!!!!). I was taken out of my high-school and placed in a day treatment for kids with behavioral problems -- I almost had to go into residential treatment. I developed a severe case of pneumonia that left me hospitalized for a month, I needed 2 lung surgeries to repair a collapsed lung, and nearly died. The symptoms of the pneumonia were missed because my frequent vomiting and general malease went unnoticed for several months with the doctors chalking it up to medication side effects. Once I was finally off the meds, I have never had an issue since -- and I will NEVER, EVER go back on anything EVER again. Now that I'm 28 and put myself through college and law school, I can look back and say those medications were never needed in the first place.
