The Southern Road: Traveling Through The New Industrial America {Gadling}

Sep 7th 2012 10:06AM I wouldn't say that the south is going through the same sort of 'industrial revolution' as what happened in places like Detroit 50+ years ago. That first wave hit the south not long after other cities: it just wasn't with cars. Manufacturing is a staple of the south and there is a trend down here of blue collar workers making as much as brethren with white collars.

That being said, it is nice to read write-ups of the south from someone who did more than fly in and get a tiny dose.

Jul 12th 2010 5:18PM The last 911 Speedster was beautiful in person; this would be a welcome addition

BREAKING: Formula One coming to Austin, Texas in 2012 {Autoblog}

May 25th 2010 2:45PM I'll be there! I doubt they will have attendance issues. If you are an American F1 fan, you will try pretty damn hard to be there. Flights to TX are cheap, hotels aren't bad, etc, etc. If the past races at Indy are any example, there will be plenty of foreigners there to also fill out the attendance.

NHTSA reportedly investigating C5 Corvette over leaky fuel tanks {Autoblog}

May 18th 2010 12:34PM Hmm... I have 2 C5s and haven't had this issue. Heard of it a bit but didn't know it was even close to widespread.

Legendary customizer George Barris kustomizes krazy Chevrolet Camaro {Autoblog}

Apr 7th 2010 5:54PM Looks like he just slapped his name on it as it isn't anywhere close to being ridiculous enough or custom enough to be a "true" Barris

CE-Oh no he didn't? Part LXVII: Steve Jobs lashes out at Google, calls Adobe 'lazy' {Engadget}

Yes, that seems like the ultimate web experience. "Here is a video I want to watch. Oh, wait, it's Flash - Time to find another copy somewhere else"

What you are proposing is a compromise of the worst degree. It's like a dealer selling a car w/o working hydraulic brakes and saying "Just use the E-brake" That's not a better experience
