Jun 21st 2011 9:16PM There is a huge difference in "spanking" and "beating"...I got spankings almost daily...did not make me angry at the world...I deserved all of them! However, I never did get a "beating"...nor did I ever beat any of my 4 children.They did know what was acceptable behavour and what was not...no problems with dicipline in our household...I have 4 great kids!

Jun 6th 2011 6:53PM I cannot imagine that people who do not even know Katie Couric would make such statements...she lost her husband and is raising two daughters.She is doing the best she can and I applaud her efforts and wish her success. I certainly would not let anyone know that I was hooked on "soap operas!"...what a waste of time! After a hundred and fifty year of soaps...isn't it time for something else? Anything else?

May 30th 2011 12:33PM The disservice I see here is to lump the homeless and vets into the same category...they each have their own reasons for being homeless...and, not all homeless are vets so it doesn't make sense to make the comparison. Yes, I am a vet and my son served in Viet Nam. Let's keep the problem where it belongs...a separate crisis.

Mar 22nd 2011 9:52PM I feel real sorry for those that did not get to know their grandparents! My mother was very young when I was born, and that meant that my "Granny" would raise me until I was nearly 9 years old. I would not trade that time for anything in this world! She passed away 60 years ago...and, I still miss her. My oldest son, youngest daughter and my grandson, did get to see the house I was born in...the home of my Granny...it will always be remembered! I am aware that family has a different meaning today...unfortunately! Perhaps that is one of the reasons there is so much violence today...no family!
