Co-Sleeping: Is a Family Bed Worth the Safety Concerns? {ParentDish}

Apr 11th 2011 6:07PM There is no way I would EVER sleep with a child. My time with my husband is much more important. Let's face it, babies stink, leak, and worse...YUCK!

66 Percent of Women Use Expired Makeup, Study Finds {Stylelist}

Nov 15th 2010 10:23AM Nonsense. It's not perishable. I don't wear makeup very often, and I have eyeshadows, lipsticks and mascara that are old enough to vote. I use this stuff, "expired" a decade or two ago, with no ill effects whatsoever. Throwing it out is a waste. Makeup doesn't expire; it's just a marketing ploy. The only exception would be nail polish hardened in the jar.

Water Buffalo {MyDaily}

Oct 26th 2010 5:41PM The video is perfectly clear; this is an American bison, NOT a water buffalo. The two animals look very different. Water buffalo ARE domesticated, have been for centuries. Bison are not; they can be penned up and raised for meat, but you have to know what you are doing. I live just around the corner from a former bison ranch, and they had high, safe fences areound the pastures, electric wire, solid wood chutes for loading them into trailers or vet stocks. They do not smell, sound or act quite like cattle, though they are related, and the inside of their mouths and their tongues are dark blue-grey, not pink, just as a matter of interest. I used to see them frequently; none ever got out. If they had, they would be very difficult to recapture. And by the way, they taste the way beef wishes it did, lower in cholesterol and fat, higher in protein, great flavor.

Five states where you're most likely to hit a deer this fall {Gadling}

Oct 5th 2010 8:47PM I live in Michigan, and I'm a mail carrier on a rural route. There are always dead deer along the roadsides. I've had many close calls, a couple of hits, and once a fawn ran out of a cornfield at full gallop, smack into the car, no way I could have avoided him. My brother in law was nearly killed by a buck that hit head-on and came through the windshield onto the front seat, antlers first. The deer population in the lower peninsula of Michigan is way too high.

Flying Fish {MyDaily}

Aug 29th 2010 11:08AM I see a new sport in the future. Fishing and skeet.
You shoot them, clean them and eat them like pheasant ( watching out for the bones and the birdshot - or would it be carpshot?)

Will Skechers Shape-ups Walk the Talk? {Shopping Articles Blog}

Apr 30th 2010 5:05PM Sketchers Shape-Ups, the "Strength" and " Metabolize" styles, are available in wide width in roaman's, Woman Within, and Jessica London catalogs. These catalogs frequently offer great incentives, I got my two pair and a pair for my niece at 50% and 40% off. As for me, I adore them. They are super comfortable, and boy, do they work. I see a very noticable difference in my legs and my rear, I pass the infamous "Pencil Test" ( age 61!), I've lost better than 30 lbs. by wearing the Shape-Ups to work, taking 2 to 4.5 mile walks around my country neihborhood about three times a week, and being sensible about stuff that I know is high in fat or sugar, but not to the point of fanaticism. Whatever of this combination works, my energy level has about tripled. I'm happy as all get out.

Survey ranks Heathrow, Charles de Gaulle and Los Angeles worst airports in the world {Gadling}

Oct 26th 2009 2:37PM I am not happy with SEATAC in Seattle, WA.
I checked my luggage in with US Airways at the street kiosk, I had a beautiful handmade wood marquetry plaque carefully packed in the middle of the suitcase. I flew to South Bend, IN with a plane change to United. When I got home I found the plaque had been stolen from the bag. I immediatly wrote to US Air baggage claim; sent them flight information, a discription and even photo of the plaque. 10 DAYS later I get a letter telling me that since United was the last carrier I need to file my claim with them.
Ok - I contact United with the whole history and they sent back a WEEK later a letter telling me basicly, Gee that's too bad, but since you didn[t call us within the 1st 48 hours so we are not responsible.
Now I no longer wonder why there is so much theft out of baggage at SEATAC - (they are 4th in the US). Nobody is watching the thieves.

'Wild Things' Scares Up Box Office Win {PopEater}

Oct 19th 2009 2:26PM Saw Wild Things yesterday on the IMAX. It is a great movie and the IMAX is the best way to really experience it. The detail is supurb and the costuming is Oscar winning quality.
