Jan 25th 2008 12:25AM Had no idea about all this til i got ripped off for the entire cost of my fare.They have an "F" with the Better Business Bureau. Booked a spirit flite from ft. lauderdale to cancun, lured in by the $9 scam, which i couldnt find, even tho i had sent my debit card number, due to their bogus,user unfriendly website or worse. Paid regular price, and AFTER i paid found out about the baggage charge. Funny, they list every tax, but omit mention of the baggage charge til AFTER you pay.
Lost my passport on the way to the airport, and a Spirit agent said not to worry, replace the passport, and we will put you on the next flite. When i got my pasport back, i went to their website and found that my reservation was cancelled the same day, in both directions, with no vouchers isssued & no possibiity to reschedule. Nasty phone personnel on their 800 number were uncooperative or caring, and of course the agent who had told me not to worry (Felix at their fll check in counter) could not be contacted. Went back to the airport when i got my passport back hoping to find either Felix, or some other human there who would put me on a plane, maybe for a change fee. He was not there that day, and the nasty supervisor who refused to do anything for me said that he was "new" and did not understand Spirit "policy".
Have flown all over the world, usually on cheap deals, and NEVER been ripped off like this, despite the occasiona mishap or need to re schedule.
Spirit airlines is a criminal enterprise, and needs to be brouight to justice.
