Obama Thanksgiving: Dinner at the White House, a Holiday Break and a Big Decision Ahead {Politics Daily}

Nov 26th 2009 1:20AM ya know Nancy,, you're right about a lot of Americans having pent up frustrations toward what they see occurring at a very troubling time for our country but your description of the opposition only breeds more resentment. If you're happy with what you see going on right now,, that's fine,, but don't put down people who express legitimate concerns as being inferior.

Let me suggest to everyone,, lay it all down for a true day of thanks. Take personal responsibility for your own actions & embrace the freedoms we enjoy.

I personally still believe in the greatness of this nation,, with that I wish everyone a truly Happy Thanksgiving & blessings. A lot of us owe our prosperity to the generations before us that paved the way,, a special thanks to them......

Obama's First State Dinner: The Guest List {Politics Daily}

Nov 25th 2009 6:41PM jrot said: "I also get the fact that while Bush wouldn't even admit that the economy was in trouble, his wife spent $185,000 on china, two weeks before they left office."

The state china that Laura Bush chose was designed long before the economy tanked & was funded "privately" by a historical foundation. For whatever reason the china was completed & delivered late as the Bushes were about to depart the Whitehouse.

FYI,, the china was far more expensive than what you quoted but is entirely irrelevant because it was paid for through private funding. Mrs. Bush also understood the public scrutiny would be critical with the shape the economy was in.

The difference being entirely that Laura Bush had enough class to realize the purchase was exorbitant at a time when families were pushed financially. The Obama's don't seem to share those same views when it's quite obvious the economy's worsening & they spend lavishly in clear view.....

Obama Will Attend Climate Summit in Copenhagen {Politics Daily}

Nov 25th 2009 1:10PM the drums have already started pounding for the next "great dilemma". Scientists say that by 2025,, 50% of the world's land mass will come under fresh water stress.

Instead of considering the earth is comprised of 71% water & engineering through de-salinization has already turned arid parts of the world such as Saudi Arabia into desert oasises the "fear factor" is much more viable to inflate science & research to a higher level as the solution. In short,, science seems to always create a dilemma in lieu of finding answers while being forwarded billions in research.

Notice that forecasting into the future always exceeds this decade & essentially relegates theory into unreliable theorem. There's no absolute proof or preconceived solutions but instead a convenient & abstract portrayal of the problem to gain notoriety & momentum by pumping fear & concern into the masses.

It has to make one wonder,, how much good could we do for the world population if we instead funded worthwhile projects in engineering & actually put people to work on projects that are a surefire methodology to the solution. In the end,, we won't change the ever changing climate as it is,, thoughtful evaluation & engineering feats will inevitably be the resolution.

The answer is a healthy gradual transition into the issues that lie before us,, not robbing people of quality of life by forever inserting the doom & gloom strategy on every single essential we need to survive.....

Is Chris Matthews Turning on Obama? {Politics Daily}

Nov 24th 2009 9:04AM Whatever Matthew's motives are,, I've gotta give him a "thumbs up" on using his brain for a change. It's ok to be wrong on issues but critical thinking demands admitting you're wrong at times.

Unlike the lemmings on this blog that constantly treat it as heresy to question the disturbing policies of this administration,, maybe Matthews has taken time to sort through some of the issues at hand.

His point that this administration sees itself as so intellectual, they totally ignore the will of the people & how their own presence appears to those they supposedly represent.

A self indulging elitist can never represent the common good of the masses,, it's just not possible. Matthew's tingle has turned into a gripping pain that even he can no longer deny......

Catholic Bishops Look to Get Their House in Order {Politics Daily}

Nov 22nd 2009 1:36PM PACRIMCO,, you look at the Catholic faith as if it's progressive activism. Perhaps this is why you left the church? Catholicism doesn't gain it's roots from what "is to happen" but your gripes were "formed in the past". Jesus didn't ordain women to spread the gospel,, it's a simple understanding of why it is & will always be that women of the Catholic faith will never be ordained. Man's law can be tinkered with & manipulated,, God's laws are beyond our meager existence & framework of understanding. The doctrine doesn't exist if manipulated by the whims of an ever changing world & if i might add,, a perverse one at that. To say they should supports an arrogance some would consider blasphemous.

Economists Say Stimulus Package Rescued Economy from Free Fall {Politics Daily}

Nov 21st 2009 5:51PM Goppy,, why do you repeatedly throw in that conservatives are Christian? Why is it necessary to generalize & throw in a religious belief system when describing a political party? Are Democrats not religious as well? Some that describe themselves as conservatives can't park their beliefs on the back shelf when politics are involved in the decision making process of what that belief system hinges upon. I'll leave it to you to figure that one out & I'm not speaking of separation of church & state.

Bush used the stimulus to primarily ward off the entire collapse of an over leveraged financial system that it's intricate ties would have had repercussions overnight around the world. The collapse of Lehman wouldn't have simply stopped with them locking their doors,, Bush & the treasury saved a full scale panic that would have touched off the calling of notes everywhere from the lowest, over extended consumer & really gotten twisted when derivatives that supercede the entire world's GDP would have fallen apart. It was an absolute necessary evil to step in at that time. Bush didn't have time to unravel or sort through the rest of the economic mess that happened at blinding speed. He left it up to Obama to decide what to do on the domestic front. Try to remember Bush was beyond being a lame duck,, he was on the verge of packing to leave the White House.

As a Republican myself,, I'm not implying further stimulus wasn't necessary to try to get the economy back on track but the main gripe by the right is how the money's been used & how ineffective it's been so far.

If you can't understand that throwing billions out into the private & public sectors without any real results to speak of is something to be concerned about,, you might need to reassess your priorities. Obama doesn't have a real plan,, he doesn't understand the private sector is the only way to bring us back through all of this. Those same corporations you dimwittedly accost are the simplest form of bringing back job creation to this country if the terms meet their approval. Say what you will,, but that concentrated wealth owns this country dude. Small business can't be organized the same as multi-national companies. You say Republicans are in bed with big business,, what do you call Obama bailing out the likes of GM & AIG? This administration is far more on the take with corporate America when the difference is "saving the system" vs. "payola for politics"!

If you've got something against organized religion & the corporate system,, spit it out. Those one liners of yours are tiring & make me despise the far left even more....

Student Protests Erupt in California as Regents Raise Tuition 32 Percent {Politics Daily}

Nov 21st 2009 12:19PM jrot,, as usual you try to defend the indefensible,,

you're correct in assuming I don't know that much about the financial structure of California's universities. That's why I qualified my comments by disclosing what I'd "read" on UCLA's fiscal problems. I think the same article said that state support had dwindled down to a low of 16% of their annual take on revenues. With that said,, universities are still state sponsored & would be open to more financial aid if the state of California wasn't run in the ground by again,, "the liberal mentality" & had more to offer from the largest segregated economy in the country. Do you get it?

S&P rates California's bonds with the lowest rating of any state in the country. Cali's facing an over $20 billion shortfall in the upcoming fiscal yr. 2010. They're faced with being the first state EVER in our countrie's history of filing for restructuring because of piss poor administrative policies of the liberal left. If you choose to disclaim the pinko lefties aren't running the asylum in California you choose to do so at your own delusional peril.

Cost of tuition increases should be tied to the rate of inflation under ordinary circumstances & my claim that a 32% increase was outrageous still stands.

You & I might agree on one issue,, that being students can transfer & bring down the university altogether,, I'm all for that if UCLA can't get their ducks in order. We might also agree there's been a lot of waste in the programs there if they can't survive on such a huge annual budget. You can throw the Ivy league schools in there that pissed away massive amounts of their investment endowment portfolios,, aren't they the ones that teach finance at the highest level? LOL,, liberal genius again at work. Can't remember which one it was,, but one pissed away a huge amount on timber commodities in an impending housing bubble,, how smart are you liberal geniuses?

To simply say that students should just transfer in light of an over burdance & unexpected jolt to their familie's budgets is over simplifying I believe. A 32% overnight markup on the cost of education has to come from someone on the higher levels not doing their homework on the future. Again,, liberal stupidity & failure to see into the future with a common sense approach that gradual tuition increases would have sufficed all along & possibly headed off this crisis. These types of imbalances don't occur overnight.

Sounds a lot to me the same predicament Cali's in right now statewide. You want to defend this,, go ahead,, your grade school argument only shows you're in denial of facts at the tip of your nose.....

Don't Cry for Boise State in Weak WAC {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}

Nov 21st 2009 10:45AM Boise's a good team but the author's 100% correct. I said the same thing myself when watching the game last night. Boise can score at will against the opponents they play. No pass rush or speed from the opposition. They've got the best team but their competition is pathetic! After a few seasons in the SEC they'd be lucky to finish with a winning record after the novelty of the trick plays were figured out. They'd get pounded in a real conference,, they're like the Texas Tech of the Big 12,, it's gotta work 100% on offense or you lose!

Former Kansas Running Back Says He Felt Wrath of Mangino {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}

Nov 21st 2009 9:41AM I hope all of this speculation is good for the Kansas football program,, I say it's not. Mangino's coached a thousand kids in that program & has had a different relationship with each & every one of them. He may feel he's not getting the most out of his program with the losses mounting up & frustration's setting in but what about all the other guys who've played in his program? The verdict's out on this one & this article & all the conjecture in the world won't resolve what a deeper investigation will show. Wait for the evidence,, then pass judgment.

Student Protests Erupt in California as Regents Raise Tuition 32 Percent {Politics Daily}

Nov 20th 2009 9:58PM that's a pretty outrageous increase but indicative of the liberal mindset statewide in California that's detached from fiscal responsibility. If I read correctly,, UCLA has streaming revenues of over $4 billion annually which makes it hard to believe there can't be enough cost cutting to contain this increase. Maybe some of these kids will learn early on in life that everyone has to contribute in order to make the entire system work for all involved. Illegals & entitlements are bringing down the entire state of California & harming one of the most prosperous units of the entire country. Just think,, this is the same mentality that's running the big show for all of us in Washington,, 'nuff said.....
