Oct 9th 2009 10:38AM I will say that I think this is 100% politics. I have no doubt that there are more derserving recipients. The fact that he was nominated just prior to the deadline in Feb. shows that someone planned ahead.
Do I think badly of Obama? Oh Hell no. I like him. Do I think he has accomplished anything yet (beyond making statements the title of his office allows) which would entitle him to this? Uh, no.
Understand. I am a fan of Obama. I just don't see where he has actually yet suffered or accomplished anything of signifigant public value to merit this particular prize. Why do I say this? Because it would really surprise me if among the other 200+ nominees we do not find some who actually have very, very life changing contributions.
But meh. If daring to disagree with this makes me a hater, then I would have to say folks are simply not viewing this with a rational perspective. Personally, I am happy for him, and I hope he fills the shoes.

Sep 12th 2008 6:32PM I have not yet made up my mjind about Palin. I refuse to eliminate her as a viable candidate on the basis of her having a pregnant daughter. Women have known for years that it takes a lot more effort to be considered half as good as a man at any given task. That is just the way it is.
That she has had children, means she understands family concerns. That she openly speaks her mind, means she can stand on her own convictions. When we see her "steal" speeches word for word like Barak, we get to question her honesty.
I don't know about this Barack. Seems his main accomplishment will be to garner all of the folks who hate Bush. Sorry, but I am old enough to remember the mess that was Jimmy Carter and this guy comes across the same way.
He can say "McSame" till the cows come home, but I will take McCain's experience and perspective over his stolen speeches any day of the week. Media meanwhile is kissing Obama's ass, he appears on Letterman and Saturday Night Live, and continues to build his platform by promising a change from the Bush mess. Frankly, I don't think he has it in him.
It will all just end in a big mess, you watch. Palin dividing folks? Nah, it is fighting along party lines that does that. ANYBODY McCain picked would be accused of the same.
Too bad I am a moderate. I am pretty damn sick of the bickering on BOTH sides!

Mar 13th 2008 5:55PM This is terribly cruel. I have 2 cats whom I love dearly. How can you impose sky diving on anyone without their consent. The little thing looked terrified!
I do not think they should take kitty away from him, as no doubt he is well loved, but I do think he should be fined and no one allowed to do such a thing again!
Poor little kitty! Horribly bad judgement to impose such an un-natural act upon a frightend animal. Good Lord, what was this guy thinking??!!

Politically correct has become a rampant form of social censorship which I can not abide. I am weary of the language being changed to not offend someone. I can see it when offense is genuinely or overtly intended, but this is off the wall. Get a life, get help, and give the rest of us a break.
Oh yeah, Christmas tree, Merry Christmas are still ok too, and what in the Hell is Kwanza? I don't care if folks want to start new traditions, fine, groovy even. But stop messing with mine. And "skinny" is neither offensive, nor improper here.
Someone has GOT to stop these sort of "witch hunt" changes. Do we still have freedom of speech or what???
