Severe turbulence causes emergency landing in Calgary {Gadling}

Jan 11th 2008 6:49AM I work for a major airline. We always announce to keep your seatbelt fastened when seated even if the cockpit doesn't have the sign illuminated in case there is unexpected turbulence. No one pays any attention. People are always up and around when the seatbelt sign is on and seem offended when we remind them that they shouldn't be up at this time. I wish we were allowed to say, "Remember the Air Canada flight when the unfortunate passenger hit her head on the ceiling during unexpected turbulence"? But that would not be appropriate!
