AOL Shopping Giveaways: Official Rules {Shopping Articles Blog}
Dec 13th 2011 10:29PM I have seen the commercials for these products & thought how nice it would be to have one but my Social Security cannot afford it. I have to sit on one of my chairs with wheels on it as I can't stand long enough to do the floors with a mop, etc. I'm 79 years old and getting older and less steady on my feet all the time.
Should You Sleep With Your Dog? The Pros and Cons of Sharing the Bed {Pawnation OLD}
Aug 30th 2010 6:51PM I don't presently own a dog but have had several in the past. I do sit with my neighbor's dog, a lab, when they're gone. They do not allow him to sleep in bed but I do. There was some question by the wife at first so I cleared it up right away by telling her if she didn't want the dog in my bed I didn't have to sit with him. That took care of that. When he's home he has to go out at night several times but when he's with me after he goes out at bedtime he's good until morning.
Country Singer, Sausage Man Jimmy Dean Dies at 81 {PopEater}
Jun 14th 2010 1:38PM I saw Jimmy Dean on stage at a Chicago Theater (between movies). He asked a little boy in the audience what his father did for a living to which the little boy replied his dad was dead. Dean came down from the stage in the middle of his performance, talked to the boy & his mother, asked them back stage & reached into his pocket & handed the boy some money. Since they were seated immediately in front of me I saw the whole thing & was impressed. Dean was a gentleman & I followed him from that point even though I'm not a C/W fan. My condolences to his family.
Hearst Castle Evening Tours {Gadling}
May 20th 2006 7:51PM I was there many years ago and took tour #2. It seems to me at that time there were only three tours but I might be mistaken. A lot of what we saw was beautiful and some even breathtaking but I was disappointed at seeing the scaffolding around the outside and the grape arbor in bad shape. The grounds were not kept up at that time. I doubt I'll be able to go back there but from the comments I've read I sure wish I could. Seems as though it's in much better shape now than it was then.
