May 13th 2013 12:17PM Al -- You make the point that the U.S. Air Force operates no Airbus aircraft, and you're probably right. Inasmuch as Fay flew the A320 for 8 months, presumeably as Pilot-In-Command (Maybe not), it would be reasonable to assume that he had to undergo training in the Airbus simulator to acquire that proficiency and to be certified in the type.. The transition to side stick controls alone, after flying control yoke aircraft would be quite confusing without training. Although Afriqiyah is a Libyan airline, it undoubtedly would have its own training facilities, or a contract with another airline for its pilot training. nI very much doubt the even Libya would hire a any pilot and just turn him lose in the aircraft.

Jun 13th 2011 10:56AM The writer obviously doesn't know the difference between the prosecuteable crime of deliberately starting a fire, and a civil action for the owner to recover damages because of her carelessness. "Case Closed" by the police simply means there was no arson involved.
