May 13th 2013 12:17PM Al -- You make the point that the U.S. Air Force operates no Airbus aircraft, and you're probably right. Inasmuch as Fay flew the A320 for 8 months, presumeably as Pilot-In-Command (Maybe not), it would be reasonable to assume that he had to undergo training in the Airbus simulator to acquire that proficiency and to be certified in the type.. The transition to side stick controls alone, after flying control yoke aircraft would be quite confusing without training. Although Afriqiyah is a Libyan airline, it undoubtedly would have its own training facilities, or a contract with another airline for its pilot training. nI very much doubt the even Libya would hire a any pilot and just turn him lose in the aircraft.
Jan 25th 2012 8:34AM Right on, Brian ------ and shouldn't the text read, "Lying on its side"? "Laid" is the past tense of, "Lay", which means to put or to place. Nobody laid the ship on its side.
Jun 13th 2011 10:56AM The writer obviously doesn't know the difference between the prosecuteable crime of deliberately starting a fire, and a civil action for the owner to recover damages because of her carelessness. "Case Closed" by the police simply means there was no arson involved.
May 9th 2011 8:09AM I remember reading that Cary Grant never legally changed his name from Archibald Leach, so so she is really Jennifer Leach.
May 7th 2011 11:50AM I ask Chris and those who agree that these girls should serve prison time: On what charge?? Maybe you'd have the District Attorney make up an appropriate law after the fact??
Apr 21st 2011 12:38PM Don't be paranoid, Madeline. I was born there, and it doesn't bother me. I identify more with Italo Balbo, Enrico Fermi, and Francis Ford Coppola.

Apr 19th 2011 12:15PM If it was white chocolate, why is this a story?
Apr 16th 2011 9:34AM This is nothing new. Forty years ago (1971 for the mathematically challenged) I installed four, "Illegal", phones in my house from the one AT&T line I paid for, including one in the bathroom. Obviously I was ahead of my time.
