Pierogies + cheese + onions + kraut = Parmageddon! {Slashfood}

May 11th 2008 10:51AM I've had that sandwich before at Melt. It really is a great sandwich. Every sandwich in that place is great. It's always nice to see Cleveland get some attention for it's food.

Continental Airlines expands paperless boarding in US {Engadget}

May 5th 2008 4:18PM I have to ask, why are they not doing this here in Cleveland? We're one of Continental's hubs, we deserve to have this. That being said, I would probably never use this because I never travel alone and always check bags, so I just get my boarding pass there. It is a great concept though.

Are suburban chain restaurants really that bad? {Slashfood}

May 4th 2008 1:06PM I think there are some great chain restaurants and some awful chain restaurants. Some of the great ones include Panera, which I eat at at least once a week, Max & Erma's, and Bonefish Grill, which I would never have thought of as a bland suburban chain, with the only NE Ohio location in a business park and the food and the decor on the upscale. Some of the awful disgusting ones include Chili's, which I found inedible, Applebee's, miserably bland, and this one chain I had to eat at while visiting family in West Virginia, Logan's Roadhouse. I don't think chains are as awful as everyone says (and I'm a foodie), but there are definitely some miserable ones out there.

SoCal Edison wants to cover California rooftops with solar panels {Engadget}

Mar 27th 2008 4:03PM This is a great idea. It's an excellent way to power up homes and businesses that's both unobtrusive and green. All cities that get enough sun to make this work should do this (I live in Cleveland so I know it wouldn't work here).

"Snow rage" erupts in Quebec {Gadling}

Mar 12th 2008 4:37PM Wow, I thought we had it bad in Cleveland. We got almost two feet of snow last weekend, but obviously that's nothing compared to Quebec (or Alaska for that matter). At least we don't have snow rage here, although if we get another major snow storm, my guess is there probably will.

Two ski experiences: Borovets in Bulgaria and Snow Trails, Mansfield, Ohio {Gadling}

Jan 26th 2008 5:10PM Being from the Akron area, I have to throw in that Boston Mills and Brandywine in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park are great places to go for a little bit of midwestern skiing. I'm at Boston Mills all the time during the ski season. It's certainly not world class skiing by any stretch of the imagination, but it's nice to have nearby.

Children should not order sandwiches without parents! {Slashfood}

Jan 11th 2008 4:11PM At first, when I read this article, I thought the idea was stupid. Then, as I read some of the comments from concerned parents, I changed my mind on that and realized that maybe this isn't a bad idea at all. However, they should make it for, say, kids 12 and under or something like that. Teens should be able to recognize their food allergies if they have any.

Are you Yelping yet? {Gadling}

Jan 7th 2008 7:47PM I'm in Cleveland and have been Yelping since May. It is not huge out here, but it is gaining some ground. However, no one I know personally uses it. I found out about it from podcasts and blogs, all out in San Francisco.
