Hot Seat: Should Ferraro Apologize? {Politics Daily}

Mar 12th 2008 12:47PM Ferraro's remark was that he would not be in a particular position if he were a woman or a white man. Maybe he was just sitting in some way to make room for his junk.

Rep. Weiner Doesn't Understand Perjury {Fanhouse MLB Blog}

Mar 5th 2008 4:15PM I don't think the New York representative was unclear about the meaning of perjury, I think he did not think it was worth wasting public money to chase. We have a 9 trillion dollar federal deficit and a war in Iraq that we can't afford. Of the 500 billion that has been spent on Iraq, 60% of that money has come from robbing Social Security. The other 40% has come from borrowing from China and India. When we DO start using federal money to chase people who have lied to Congress, I think we should start chasing the ones who have cost this country dearly with their lies - not the ones who don't.

Open Letter: Star Jones Checks Bill O'Reilly's Racist Remark {Blackvoices Main}

Mar 3rd 2008 10:59AM Ridiculous comment made by a ridiculous man. Why is anyone surprised? He's purposely bent his mind so far around his own self-righteousness, he probably doesn't even realize he's said anything wrong. It's become common place for us to publically slur Muslims, Middle Easterners, even Europeans (especially the French) just because they do not agree with the people in power. I remember a time - not too long ago - when America actually tried to be an INCLUSIVE society. Guess we gave up on the ideal nation concept in favor of hate and bigotry. Sad that we became so righteous, so arrogant, so foolish, and so lazy. I suppose it makes people with small minds more comfortable to live out their meaningless lives in such a simple fashion. O'Reilly, why don't you take some of your money and buy a clue? You need to apologize, on the air, for your insensitive choice of words.

Bob Ryan Has Harsh Words for Patriots Owner Robert Kraft, Coach Bill Belichick {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Feb 17th 2008 3:51PM What I find hard to believe is that Pats fans are not the ones most upset with Belichick. Here he had a team that was arguably the best collection of talent ever assembled in the history of the NFL and still he did not have faith enough in them to win without spying on his opponents. Getting caught with your pants down cheating to beat the New York Jets is beyond embarrassing. What he has accomplished is that he has forever tarnished the reputations of all these incredibly talented players such as Tom Brady. Brady's records will forever be linked to a coach who thought he had to cheat to win. In NASCAR teams are always pushing the rules to and sometimes beyond the limits to win. After the race, if their car is found to be so much as a fraction out of specs... they forfeit their win. They might still have had the best car and the best driver but it doesn't matter. Cheating is cheating - even if you only cheat a little bit. Maybe fewer teams would be willing to cheat to win if harsher penalties were handed down in other sports.

Roger Clemens Hearing: Live Blog {Fanhouse MLB Blog}

Feb 13th 2008 1:57PM We have a 9 trillion dollar debt, we have a war in Iraq that has cost American tax payers 472 billion dollars that we didn't have to spend. We have borrowed against social security to the tune of 300 billion dollars just to fund the war in Iraq with the baby boomers just getting set to retire and draw on the social security benefits and yet congress feels the need to spend money investigating steroid use in professional sports. Why? How about spend some time on figuring out what to do about our 9 trillion dollar debt. How about they figure out how to get America back to work and stop worrying about what professional sports stars are doing. How about we spend more time investigating the excesses of our own federal government and stop chasing this foolish distraction. We are NOT paying this people to police sports. If you don't like what's happening in professional sports... stop watching them.

Ex-Viking Jim Marshall: '72 Dolphins Wouldn't Get a First Down Against the Patriots' {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Jan 31st 2008 3:23PM What a ridiculous article - for their time the '72 Dolphins WERE the '07 Patriots. Patriots feature Stallworth, Moss and Welker as their receiving corp whilst Miami had Warfield, Briscoe and Twilley. I'd give Pats the edge at quarterback for their era since I think Brady at his worst is better than anyone's second teamer and especially better than an old man like Earl Morral who won 10 of those 17 games. BUT I think the Fins had a better backfield. They broke a single season rushing record that year with Csonka, Morris and Kiick. Sure the winning percentages of their foes in '72 doesn't match well with the '07 Pats but at least the entire rest of the AFC East in '72 didn't completely stink on ice the way it did this year. If I recall the Pats were the sissies that year and I think they won at least 3 times as many games as Miami did this season. I do wonder how well the Pats would have fared this season if Brady had sat out 10 games in a cast.

Actually Bush Didn't Lie {News Bloggers}

Jan 27th 2008 12:17PM To counter the arms deal Reagan illegally brokered with the terrorists who seized the US Embassy in Iran during the Carter administration, America began supplying Iraq (Iran's sworn enemy) with millions of dollars worth of weapons including the ingredients to produce long ranged chemical and biological WMDs. This lunacy continued through the George H.W. Bush years. In fact, just weeks before Iraq invaded Kuwait, the executive branch of the U.S. authorized shipments of sarin (a highly lethal nerve agent) to Iraq - fully aware that sarin had been discovered as the cause of death in a mass execution of Kurdish civilians in Northern Iraq. I don't know if this information supports GW Bush and his invasion of Iraq or indicts the previous two Republican adminstrations, that is a question be for the US voters to decide in November. This information is a FACTUAL part of US Congressional records. Research it if you don't believe me. When Clinton went after those weapons plants during his terms as president, the majority of Americans accused him of wagging the dog. I guess we can all take some amount of blame for the situation in Iraq - stop blaming each other and start making our politicians accountable for their actions.
