Nov 11th 2008 11:13PM unfortunately there is no separation between church and state on this issue. perhaps all should be required to have a civil union recognized by the state. then, if you belong to a religious sect that wishes to recognize it as a marriage, so be it. that said, i'm sickened by the judgement and hatred of the religious right. if i were independently wealthy, i would flee this embarrassing country.
