Adam Lambert: I'm a 'Role Model' or a 'Nightmare' {Popeater}
Nov 25th 2009 11:43AM I think it was the venue and audience to take into consideration. If Adam Lambert would have done this performance at say, Backstreet in Atlanta, GA he would receive the acclaim due his performance. I don't expect him to particularly enjoy watching Madonna strutting around and grinding to "Like a Virgin" a racy and heady heterosexual portrayal of female sexuality, unless of course he's borrowing her moves! Let's not forget how provocative her performance was say, 25yrs. ago? Well ever heard the expression less is more? Lambert needs to realize that his fans are not all attracted to him because of his sexuality, but because of his vocals and other musical aspects. As entertainers we have to keep in mind that we're not always doing a show to entertain ourselves. With all due respect Adam, you were on the AMERICAN Music Awards, not the GAY Music Awards. Just kissing the keyboardist at length was racy enough, but your show went beyond the Madonna/Britney kiss and performance on many levels. Now going on tour and doing the same show is fine, those people are paying to see you, but when you perform on stage at this award show in particular, no one is going to hand you the "Queerest Folk" Artist of the year award! Oops - maybe I just did - lol!

Nov 23rd 2009 6:25PM As you sow, you shall also reap (Gal. 6:7-9). Yet by the measure you judge, you will be judged also, (Matt. 7:1-2). While you may be correct in saying that those who teach will be judged more strictly,(James 3:1), the verse also goes on to say that many should not presume to be teachers for this very reason. It is impossible to live a holy life in our own strength, (2 Cor. 12:6-21), and though God sees us as righteous by Jesus' blood, the reality of this gift is so extraordinary that we can't comprehend how perfect it is. Living a holy and sanctified life comes from our love of Christ and our relationship to Him, it doesn't come from proving people wrong. The Law does that! Yes we were all sinners before coming to Christ, and though we may still struggle with sin, it is the Lord's battle. The more that we submit to His Lordship, our lives become an ever brightly shining mirror of our fellowship with Him until we die, and we're united with Him as One. Take the confession for what it is, this is for his healing and the others too involved, as well as God curing you of your legalism, (James 5:16). Accepting Christ means that we won't or don't ever sin again - it simply means that God knows our hearts and accepts our repentance, and His love transforms us and compels us to live according to His will, despite our flesh. God sees us as perfect, because of Jesus' blood, lest we completely disregard our relationship with Him entirely, after knowing He died for us,(Heb. 10:26-31). We're not making provision to sin, rather showing that there is reconciliation. The devil would have you think that you can't be forgiven, especially after knowing that Christ died for you, so that you stay in bondage and guilt to the acts of your flesh. I have seen ministers of God struggle with an enormous guilt that made them serve their flesh compulsively, as fear of condemnation, when there's no condemnation in Christ, (Rom. 8:1). (Gal. 6:1)
As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are charged to restore someone who has sinned gently, in so much as it doesn't cause us to sin, and we do this because they're a part of our body with Christ as the head. Don't you understand that?

Nov 23rd 2009 3:38PM Note that this article says "several", so he wasn't the only one! If we started handing out suspensions to athletes and Congress people for their indiscretions interfering with their professional lives, then maybe people would think twice about rationalizing their indiscretions. It is better to wait until you are ready to make that kind of commitment. God has shown me that I was not ready for marriage yet, I have turned down many proposals, and marriage is way more than a cohabitative financial agreement to have children. I could fret about it, being 29, but I'd rather do what He has planned in His time, and right now I can learn more serving Him without distraction, so that I know how to be Christ-like to my mate when married. We make a vow to care for someone in the way that Christ cares for us, and this is a spiritual commitment first and everything else flows out from there. God gives us promises, but we must listen to what He says about the timing of their fulfillment, and sometimes people give well-intentioned advice in the church realm that may or may not be relevant to the issues that God is working on with us to make us more like Him. Emanuel, I thank you for the courage to not be fake and that you realize that young people look to you as an example. I think as we mature, we realize the power of our lives to impact others for Christ, and God will show you how to use this to help someone else. +
Walmart levies lifetime ban against gay couple {Daily Finance}
Nov 10th 2009 2:11PM Obviously, there is reason to suspect a crime was taking place. The fact that they are gay had nothing to do with it, unless they were treated unfairly by the WAL-MART staff or the police, by being called "gay/fagg*ts/homos" or being roughed up in their handling during arrest. WAL-MART acts as if they had them arrested falsely, and then sends them the bill. WAL-MART is barking up the wrong tree here, asking for $158.40 for a $16 pack of lighters AFTER THE FACT. Then it really gives credence to the statements made by the couple that they were discriminated against. I would take WAL-MART to small claims court and sue them for $158.40, a written apology and lifting of the ban to shop there, and offer to pay the $16 for the lighters. This way, there is a paper trail for anyone who feels harassed by WAL-MART in a discriminatory way.
