Hot Seat: Can Romney Survive Another Loss? {Politics Daily}

Jan 14th 2008 9:54PM At $2 million per state, Romney can buy all of the airtime he needs to secure a nomination. Does that mean he will spend that? No. He is a businessman and won't waste his money after Florida.

AOL Straw Poll: Jan. 14-21 {Politics Daily}

Jan 14th 2008 3:13PM Your poll is flawed; are you going to announce Ron Paul won like you did McCain?

By the way, McCain supporters were sending around a URL that helps bypass multivoting restrictions on your poll. Looks like the cat is out of the bag, so to speak.

Is the Constitution Your Personal Wish List? {Politics Daily}

Jan 14th 2008 3:09PM The constitution does not delineate our rights; it proscribes the powers of the federal government. Even the prohibitionists knew this and worked to pass an amendment to achieve their goal of allowing the federal government to outlaw the consumption of a commodity. Today's drug warriors think all they need are a couple of regulations based loosely on the interstate commerce clause.

Tell me sir, where in the constitution is the federal government granted power over purely *intrastate* commerce? Or, over purely *intrastate* gifts or services? Nowhere. These issues are left up to the individual states and the people in accord with the 10th amendment. But not in the minds of people like you, or, for that matter, the majority of Americans, who implicitly accept the federalization of our government.

Some people can't stand the idea of something being lawful in one state of the union but unlawful in another. Most large businesses are pro-federalization because they want large markets with uniform laws. Others just want to force their policy choices on others, and what better way then to make it where if you do not comply, G-men will be breathing down your neck!?

I recently bought some Claritin-D here in Texas for allergies; I had to sign a federal oath that I would only use this for lawful purposes, the civil penalty being $250,000 for perjury. Outrageous! I guess there is a federal war again allergy sufferers that I haven't been told about. Nice to know that one could be bankrupted just by the legal fees it would take just to counter one anonymous and deceitful phone call to the DEA.

Woman held in shackles at JFK for overstaying visa {Gadling}

Dec 23rd 2007 5:39PM Stop complaining about the police state running off tourists and do something about it! Write your representatives and let them know you want drastic reform of our immigration facilities and that all visitors should be treated with dignity. Due process isn't simply a right of citizens, but of all people under the jurisdiction of U.S. law.

Also, please consider voting for Ron Paul in your state's upcoming Republican primary/caucus-- he sure as heck would do his best to insure we hire INS agents that can tell the differences between terrorists and tourists.
