Jun 22nd 2011 12:11PM Sorry folks. While it is possible that he may not have been drunk he WAS pushing 75mph OVER the 55mph speed limit. That makes him guilty of several moving violations and probably vehicular manslaughter. 130mph on ANY road in the U.S. is beyond excessive. Driving that fast is an invitation to kill a whole bunch of innocent people driving on the same road.

Jan 23rd 2011 11:57PM We saw Rod Stewart back in the late 90's (front row center too) in Maine. He was so incredibly loaded he could barely sing most of his songs. He forgot the words to 3 of his songs completely while losing his way during several more. He was sitting on the edge of the stage right in front of me and stopped singing and started to doze. He came around when he dropped the mike and his chin hit his chest. I have seen some bad concerts for many reasons (lousy sound systems, cruddy opening acts, etc.) but this was far and away the biggest waste of money I've ever spent on music.

Jan 12th 2011 7:36AM You are wrong in your thought process. "Dr." Murray supplied the drug for Michael Jackson. Whether Jackson injected the drug or not, Murray is responsible. Propofol does nothing for sleep. It produces a state of unconsciousness but NOT sleep. He should lose his license for his use of propofol in the years leading up to Jackson's death and be tried for using propofol in a manner not intended (not off-label). He crossed so many lines it is hard to keep track.

Jan 12th 2011 7:00AM Perhaps instead of blaming your inability to find work on your status as a veteran (thank you for your service by the way), you should learn how to spell and use proper grammar. In addition, the stream of obscenities (including using God's name in vain) used in your post is probably not helping you. Attitude and things like spelling and grammar will work their way into your paperwork whether you are aware of it or not and will absolutely kill any chance of getting a position when the potential employer reads your resume. I am a doctor now but in the years leading up to my career I worked virtually any type of job I could get my hands on to provide for my family and put myself through school. Until you have been refused a job where your tagline might be something like "would you like fries with that", you haven't done all you could do to provide for yourself and family. The problem today is that people who are receiving unemplyment benefits don't want to accept low paying jobs because they can make as much while sitting around watching soap operas and eating bon bons on the sofa. The other problem is pride. Pride that prevents a person from taking a job that is below their "standards". This country is still great....the best in the world. People today will go out of their way to help those who serve our country (I personally give free care to my military patients). We are so abundantly blessed that we have gotten fat from sitting on our laurels. This is now the "me, me, me" generation. Imagine 30 or 40 years ago telling patents that by 1995 we would be putting "televisions" into the headrest of vehicles to keep their children entertained. Or, that they would have their own phones the size of a credit card which they could take everywhere so they could talk to their ten year old friends constantly. Or, that kids would have thousands of dollars worth of video game systems and games and controllers to entertain them. Americans have become fat and lazy.

It did not measure blood pressure in adults whose parents smoked when they were children. Do you understand now or is it too much for you to comprehend. For KC; those scientists ("political hacks with an agenda" as you so eloquently put it) conducted an excellent study which revealed only one of the potential health hazards of second-hand smoking. And before you call others, with more education than you obviously possess, nitwits I would seriously recommend you learn how to spell (or at least find someone to spell for you) before you start slinging moronic comments. Oh, by the way, my father didn't smoke so that is at least one adult who didn't smoke as opposed to "every single one" as you contend. You, and the others who have posted similar comments, drop the collective IQ of Americans dramatically.

Mapplethorpe (who died in 1989) urinated into a glass container and placed an upside-down crucifix in it and....voila....art (can you sense my sarcasm?). He produced some very disgusting and disturbing pieces (including a photograph of a bullwhip inserted in his anus) and this gained him a lot of fame. Not that I am happy he died but I am ecstatic that he is no longer peddling his filth. Pure, unadulterated filth. Just because some moron pees in a cup and throws a religious icon into it does NOT make it art.

Nov 20th 2010 8:03AM Keep this in mind folks. All electric cars are being powered by juice that is produced by a coal fired, nuclear or hydroelectric plant. They are hardly as "clean" as they are touted to be. In some cases they produce more emissions, overall, (an article I recently read) than their gasoline powered cousins. Granted, coal power, hydroelectric power and nuclear power can be produced for many years to come, which will drop our dependence on crude oil, but the net result from electric cars lies in nuclear waste, devestated ecosystems and carbon emissions.
