Jan 3rd 2008 11:30AM people will jump on the tracks for things like books, hand bags, etc. It really seems to have more to do with being young and able then what is dropped. The jump back and forth is only about four feet and the average sixteen year old can do it with no problem. That said I wouldn't jump for anything, because you can just tell one of the MTA employees.
In addition, looking for all of the stories involving people doing stupid things to save something they value, just for the sake of reporting on the harm to those people, is sick and stupid.

The fact that he was dead and the known killer made his "package valueless.I hate to think that their names will be forgotten and the killer will live on. Apr 18th 2007 3:25PM Arnold is a true representative of the people of California. Is is not the true representative of an ideology. Since all of my neighbor's are people I think Arnold's position is right.
Arnold also is smart enoughto realize when he has made a mistake and then do something about it. Most politians cling inflexibly to poor choices they have made and that does not help our state or country.
There is a saying that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again hoping for different results. Arnold's actions prove him to be sane.
It may not be fiscally tight-wad conservative to fix all of our deteriorating infrastructure now and pay for it over the next thirty years, but it will be disasterous if we allow the infrastructure to deteriorate for the next thirty years without fixing it.

Sep 18th 2006 4:17PM Back then Arnold was in an industry [bodybuilding] where that type of behavior was accepted. Times have changed and now it isn't. Arnold said, back then he wasn't planning on running for office and didn't behave as if he was. Because he is a professional I trust him to act within the decorum of the times. Also we know what Arnold is like because we have seen him behave with people who have no record of their opinions we can only guess.
National parenting expert wants Mother's Day canceled {ParentDish}
May 14th 2006 5:20PM Mother's day is wonderful and should be every day, but deleting the day that it now so designated seems to me wrong. Maybe we should recognize mother's day on a monthly basis, or even make it a weekday, nobody would miss Monday and Motherday would not require a change to the M on preprinted calanders.
Since my Mom is now gone, I think it is a great institution, for gathering to remember one of the finest people who ever lived. While I remember Mom everyday, I am glad that there is this special day set aside just for her.
