Plane Answers: When do pilots use the autopilot? {Gadling}
May 2nd 2008 12:32PM I have a follow up question. How does it work that the autopilot does the landing? Doesn't it have to be programmed for each flight? Do you know the exact runway you'll be landing on at the destination airport before you leave the departure airport in order to program the autopilot? Or does air traffic control communicate with the autopilot in some way?

Jan 23rd 2008 12:03PM I have to disagree about BART. It is clean and efficient, but it doesn't cover the entire Bay Area: it doesn't go to the North Bay (Marin). For that, you have to take BART into San Francisco (the best stop is Civic Center) and catch a Golden Gate Transit bus.
