Daily deal - HP Mini-Note 2133 ultra portable notebook for $299 {Gadling}
Oct 26th 2008 1:39AM If full sized keyboard is important why not get a 12" notebook? you get the same 2hr battery life anyway ..
VIA cpu? 3 cells? vista on 1GB? something is seriously wrong with hp.

Oct 19th 2008 10:02AM I love rat coffins. If you can, get sargents instead of four and twenty - from the supermarkets. Nothing beats the taste of local bakery ones or fresh home made.

Sep 15th 2008 3:00PM From a different standpoint, the $499 15" laptop is kind of like a cheap gas-guzzling 4WDs. Can't go miles without filling in, bad handling, yet not good enough for real mud. The moped otoh, is a perfect city slicker, goes on and on, swim through traffic jam, and on it's bumper there's a sticker that says "my other car is a quadcore" :)

Sep 10th 2008 1:21AM Eee 901 owners (that has ZIF socket) rejoice ! but I still prefer a 16GB fast ssd than this.

#3 post there said XP took 150-180 secs to boot? is it really that bad? then there's the glossy screen, 3 cell, vista on 1GB, and AU$150 premium over 1000H. On top of that, they want $130 for a 6 cell upgrade. I like the keyboard and metal finish though, but why should I bother put up with the rest.

Olympics: Spain and the height of cultural insensitivity {Gadling}
Aug 15th 2008 9:08AM To those who say "relax, get a life" or "suck it up" or "take it easy" or plain "just take it", here's my suggestion:
When you order food from a wop, a wetback, a chink, and even a spic eateries, let them know your easygoing nature by using those 'merely descriptive' names, ok?
Or even better, try it when you're abroad. Don't worry, you'll be alright.

Aug 14th 2008 11:43PM Got an Eee 901 for browsing whatnots from the couch/bed, and the coffee shops. The ssd silence was awkward at first, but nice not to bother wife sleeping next to you. Got an SDHC 16GB to solve the lack of storage capacity, and optical. I prefer the smaller 901 than 1000 since it's small enough yet still has the multitouch trackpad, and slightly better battery life. The keyboard a bit small though, but I don't mind at all.
My last smallputer was a cruel-slow pcg-c1vn however, this 901 seriously changed my mind regarding usability of 'toy' laptops.

Aug 13th 2008 12:11PM I bet when four spaniards painted their faces black, dressed up as monkeys, and with "hamilton family" inscribed on their tshirts didn't mean harm to Lewis Hamilton. Apparently it's OK to do that in Spain. Not to mention taunts to black soccer players by their spanish counterparts, by both spanish players and spectators. Being called "Black shit", Monkey gestures etc.
Racism and Spain? No, the issue wasn't over sensitivity.
