BWI - Breastfeeding While Intoxicated {ParentDish}

Jan 10th 2009 11:17AM For the morally indigant who think that breast feeding in public is wrong, let me ask you something. When you are hungry in public do you stop what ever you are doing to rush home to eat? Before you think that I am some 20 something with no clue about life let me inform you I am 47 and breast fed BOTH my children including ::gasps:: when we would go out to eat. Mind you yes I would do so discreetly for it would appear they were simply wrapped in a blanket sleeping. With all the chemicals in our foods it has been proven time and time again breast feeding is THE best way to feed our children. And for all you religious book thumpers you might want to review your teachings after all there was no other way to feed children during the time of Christ's birth BUT breast feeding.

Stores won't sell alcohol to parents with kids in tow {ParentDish}

May 19th 2008 8:24AM For those of you who has NEVER worked a corner carry out as a clerk let me tell you that while you all sit here and think how stupid this rule is let me give you a PRIME example why I am glad its there. Yes the US only has a similar rule for tobacco products but I had a mother STUPID enough to turn to her underage daughter at my counter and ASK what kind of cigs the daughter wanted. I promptly told the mother I couldnt NOT and would NOT sell the cigs to her. Mother had a fit even though I pointed to the MANY signs indicating non sale to minors or to those who are GIVING the items to minors. "I" the clerk if the police came in could have gone to jail for selling them. The mother argued for 5 minutes holding up the line before leaving in a huff buying nothing because she stated she wasnt asking me to sell them to her daughter to which I replied "But you asked your daughter in front of me what she wanted and legally I now know you are making a purchase for a minor".

So the store in the UK is erroring on the side of caution when it comes to alcohol. If parents/adults cant understand this, them perhaps its time to review their habits?

Houston Teen Arrested Over Skimpy Prom Gown {Blackvoices Main}

May 14th 2008 11:46AM Yes Senior prom is a special night but your dress should be appropriate to the situation. The only place that dress is appropriate is in a strip club or on the corner waiting for a John. Where on earth were the parents when she left the house and how on earth could they EVER think that as appropriate other than screaming "I am looking to become a Baby Mama" or " I am a sleazy slut"

Maria Sharapova Is Right, WTA Is Wrong: Tennis Is More Important Than Photo Shoots {Fanhouse Backporch}

May 9th 2008 2:15PM Just curious if this was the PGA and it was Tiger Woods saying no would you all be bickering as much? Fact of the matter is this if the WTA knew this tournament was coming and that there was down time between tournaments why not take the pictures then. The only reason it sounds as if they are being so demanding as it appears they want the pictures in the locale of the tournment. IF that is the case then WTA should foot the bill to bring in the players EARLIER to the tournment to allow them time to recoupe from flying etc and have time to shoot THEN prepare for the tournament. I hope Maria stands her ground on this.

Starbucks nationwide to close for emergency re-training Feb. 26 {BloggingStocks}

Feb 14th 2008 12:43PM I will second the Dutch Bros coffee. I live in Tempe AZ and we had one open a few months back. One of the promos was cards for free drinks of any kind any size any time. They have hot, iced and blended (aka Frappacino style). So I can take the free shuttle bus in our city to have a free GOOD coffee drink. I recently took a friend of ours there who just moved out here and is getting settled and got HER hooked too.

Starbucks nationwide to close for emergency re-training Feb. 26 {BloggingStocks}

Feb 14th 2008 7:20AM Over the holidays I splurged for one of the egg nog lattes while out doing Christmas shopping. In the past it was if you brought your own travel mug you could save 10% on your drink. Imagine my shock when I was told it was only a 10 CENT savings. I still got the drink but now I remember why I dont go there as often as I used to. I will go to Circle K or AM/PM to get my coffee. I can fill my travel mug (20 oz) for about $1.07 and this includes adding things like vanilla syrup and vanillia creamer, having a choice of flavored coffee etc. AM/PM is like the BP's out east with lots of flavored coffee choices and flavored syrups and creamers to add to your coffee. So even though that within walking distance of my house I have a Starbucks, a CircleK and an AM/PM the Starbucks is now only for a splurge given the prices they are now charging, as well as how long it takes to even get my drink.

Boomer Esiason Replacing Don Imus {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Aug 5th 2007 11:08AM Ohhh sure Boomer that everytime Cincinnati does good cant say a thing nice about Cincinnati even though he used to be our quarter back. Quite frankly hes barely tolerable as announcer, just like when he was our quarterback.
