Louis Armstrong has lived and died.Imitating him is not jazz.Learning to think and going beyond, that is where jazz may have a future.
Dr. Taylor was both a musicologist AND a musician.He employed both hemispheres of his brain, and promoted THOUGHT. Thought is the origin of all art.
This man had a valuable grasp of what has transpired, and some clue as to what may yet come, if we let it happen.

She was never the same.In her life she was never able to talk about the event.People were pushed beyond the limits of human endurance, and were never the same.Now they are all gone and all meat for the vultures.I will remember thay over 1000 men and women sacrificed themselves that a few hundred might live.And now a pretext for these commercial maggots to sell tickets.Rest in peace, Kathy.

We do not hear our voices as others hear them or as the microphone hears them.Something is missing on playback.We sound reedy and juvenile.We can be much more objective about our instruments because we hear them as they are. I think it is due to the accoustics of the human head. I have discussed this with MANY other musicians and ALL of them said the same thing.Practice will get you through it, but it will never sound "right" to you.

Nov 10th 2009 10:51AM To me this smells like an orchestrated event.Many defendants with deep pockets have been bullied into relatively modest settlements by ACTORS posing as politically correct victims.Gay people shop at Wal-Mart every day with no problems. But nobody is allowed to steal there. Clearly worded signs proclaim this.Anti theft measures occasionally trip even on innocent parties.This happened to me once when a device did not deactivate.Employees were gracious to me, and I was not ejected or banned.I still shop there because I am honest, and I know I have nothing to fear friom an honest firm.

They are less competitive because, FINALLY, people have some alternatives available.Do networks increase their competitive edge by providing better content? No, they do not. Instead they drop a dime and call in some markers from politicians they bought years ago. Why is Franken different, I dont know. Maybe he is just a new kid on the block.But i say it is not the role of government to prop up unorofitable and obsolete business models, or to sell us out to a bunch of pill pushers.
