Free sample of dog treats from Walmart {WalletPop}
Jun 4th 2010 6:56AM I LOVE 3-Dog Bakery. My dogs LOVE 3-Dog Bakery! Unfortunately, they closed the shop they used to have in the French Quarter in New Orleans where we could go, bring our Great Danes and let them choose the treats they liked best, and give smoochies to the resident pooch.
Good product and soooo convenient for us. Just a few blocks away. But after Katrina they picked up and left us for dryer/higher digs.
I'm happy that WalMart is now carrying their product. Our Danes loved those hide (I think) braided chew toys. They kept them busy and they tasted good, too.
They also used to have long, fuzzy, colorful, stuffed snakes to play with. I wonder if Walmart is also carrying those?
This is very good news....but I wish they'd come back to the French Quarter. ;-)

Gwyneth Paltrow as Marlene Dietrich? How About... {Cinematical}
Mar 2nd 2010 4:27PM Amazing things happen to good actors when they are tempted by a wonderful role. They stretch themselves craft-wise and suprise their toughest critics.
Who'd have thought that Drew Barrymore could pull off portraying "Little Edie" in "Grey Gardens"? And did she ever! She WAS "Little Edie". She was fantastic.
I hope and expect that Gwyneth Paltrow will happily surprise us with Dietrich. Just because she has done some fluff in the past doesn't mean she's not capable of pulling this rabbit out of the hat.
I wish her good luck!
Emily Post Teaches Hollywood Manners {Cinematical}
Feb 24th 2010 3:23PM I totally agree. Probably why there's a need for books on etiquette, now, like never before. It isnt' taught at home or school like it used to be.
People just don't respect each other anymore.
One of the best and most current books out on the subject of etiquette is Amy Akon's "I See Rude People". It doesn't just cover opening doors or helping with coats...which is always nice and should be automitic... it deals with cell phone use in situations when it can destroy someone else's special evening, or merely a nice quiet meal; unruly kids whose parents don't seem to claim them until someone complains; telemarketers who call when they're sure you'll be there (during your dinner); and several other situations that never existed back when curtesy was normal behavior and rudeness was only from "the wrong side of the tracks", wherever that was.
Sexual Innuendo Dropped From Led Zeppelin Song at Olympic Closing Ceremony {Fanhouse Olympics Blog}
Aug 25th 2008 5:52AM What's the big hullaballu all about? It was so noisy and there was so much going on, who could hear all the lyrics anyway. And...why try to find fault? From beginning ceremonies to the end it was one of the best spectacles ever performed for the Olympics. Probably THE best. Why nit-pik? It's not worth it.
Now Great Britain has to come up with something that doesn't look weak in comparison to the Beijing ceremony. Good luck!
Chris Bosh: Beijing Correspondent, Part VIII {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Aug 25th 2008 5:39AM People are discussing who would have won Gold this year...Team 1992 or Team 2008. In spite of what many have said I believe Team 2008 would have won. I love the Dream Team but the teams that were playing in the 1992 Olympics didn't have the power and the talent of the teams playing today. The world has caught up! If the Dream Team had played the same teams the ReDeem team had played I don't beleive they would have had the blow-outs they had back then. 2008 Team USA won their Gold with no astericks behind their name. They deserve the medals they won in Bejing and they should wear them with pride!
And Chris you looked great up on the Great Wall. Frame it and remember it. This was an Olympics to remember!
NBA and the Olympics {Blog Maverick}
Jun 26th 2008 2:25AM As much as I hate to admit it...Mark Cuban is saying exactly what I'm thinking.
I know the players like to play for the pride of their country. They feel very honored to be asked, and well they should be. I love it! Patriotism is at an all time low, it seems. But there is no synergism between the NBA, the individual teams and the networks who are the exclusive carriers of the games and help make up the huge sums of money that it takes to run a franchise in the black.
These players get training time and exhibition playing time and if they get hurt and can't play it not only messes up their place on their home team...but it lets their fans down who pay big time for the tickets to see them play 41 home games every year.
Something really needs to be done about this. The NBA has enough big problems these days. One that will cost them empty stadiums needs to be addressed...and addressed NOW!

Do Blog Comments Have Value ? {Blog Maverick}
Nov 26th 2007 2:33AM Hi, Mark,
I like to read AND to make comments on some blogs. I have a blog and enjoy when I get comments, too.
Do I think comments should be moderated? Youbetcha! I eliminate comments from people who are just posting to advertise something or who try to shock in a not-so-nice way. If it pertains to the blog...if it's pertinent, it stays. Even if I don't agree with it.
I don't always agree with you but you're eloquent and express your ideas so that I can understand your point of view without hating you for being different from me.
BTW...I noticed you were looking VERY buff after all that "Dancing with the Stars" working out. I hope you are keeping up with it. You were really getting good at it and it was great for you and your new hip. I hope you can hire Kim Johnson to come around about once a week to give you and your family some dancing lessons.
I sure wish I could afford it! Do you know how I can get Maksim Chmerkovskiy to drop over for a few lessons? ;-)
Paris in....China? {Gadling}
Nov 13th 2007 2:26AM According to a Reuters story: "Tianducheng's Eiffel Tower is 108 meters (354 feet) high, second only to the 165-metre replica at the Paris Las Vegas hotel in Nevada, and 8 meters higher than the third-largest in China's southern city of Shenzhen."
Apparently there are lots of replicas all around the world. They say "Imitation is the greatest form of flattery" so I suppose Eiffel would have been flattered.
I guess China is telling their people, "If you can't go to Paris...we'll bring Paris to you."
