Oct 11th 2009 3:07PM I agree that there are more troops needed in Afghanistan. Germany should be requested to furnish at least 20,000 more. If they fail to provide them, we should reduce the US force in Germany by that number and not replace them when the mission in Afghanistan is completed. They enjoy a force of close to 60,000 US military and provide only 3,000 to the multinational force in Afghanistan.

Oct 11th 2009 2:41PM Fully one of the stated goals of the Nobel organization is the elimination of standing armies, yet Norway not only has a military of conscripted men and women; bur resists the urging of the EU to replace it's military border guards with a professional civilian force like the US and the majority of the EU. A peace prize awarded by Norway is a joke.

Aug 30th 2009 12:54PM Although the Catholic Church operates many hospitals/health care facilities throughout the United States, they do not offer any sort of healthcare insurance. Not only that, but they bill the uninsured a lot more for services than they would ever be paid by an insurance company and are very aggressive in their collection policies. If they seriously support universal health care, why don't they offer it?

May 7th 2009 8:41PM I was happily at the head of the boomer retirement waive. I retired and then in less thatn a year I watched by retirement savings take a 40% hit and the value of my home take a nosedive. I am now looking for work again. So my advise is if you have twice what you think you will need, go ahead and retire, else....

Apr 11th 2009 5:33PM Here in the state of Washington they will try to get income tax on the books by sarting it at incomes of over $500,000 or $250,000 depending on who you listen to. Don't trust them. As soon as it gets in they will keep lowering the income level so they can spend more of your money. Tell them to do the same thing we need to do when our hours/income is cut - spend less. Cut the benefits to those who do not work. If they don't like the hand out here maybe they will move back to California. Also require that all children in the public school system have Social Security Numbers. If they ared not here legally let their parents pay for private schooling.
