If this did indeed happen, why wasn't he sucked out of the plane?

Delta Puts Kids on Wrong Flights, Says Sorry {AOL Travel News}
Jun 10th 2010 12:51PM As a gate agent myself, I don't see how this was possible??? When you scan the boarding pass it will set off an alarm if the name or seat number does not match! I think most of Delta's woes are with that commuter airline which has been losing pets, bags and now children. No, I do not work with Delta, and sometimes it is necessary for folks to send their kids alone, ie, camp, custody battles, relatives,etc. The kids fare well, and most are mature beyond their years and are able to fly alone with confidence. However, I wouldn't send a kid alone if under 9 years, that is just too young.
Galley Gossip: Emotional support animals, sock monkeys & pets on planes {Gadling}
Mar 19th 2010 12:06PM Stella - My concern is for people such as yourself. The other day there was a girl in line (I was a passenger this time) and she had her yorkie in hand. The woman behind me says to her, "Oh are you taking your 'service' dog on board?" She laughs and says yes, my dog can dial 911 ha-ha-ha. Then the lady says what else can it do? and the girl continued to laugh. Now if you were on this flight needing your esa dog, there is a limitation as to how many pets can be boarded in-cabin. Would it be fair for you to have to take an alternate flight because you checked in after her? Is is fair for those who were honest about their personal pets and paid the in-cabin fee?
Believe me, Stella, it is VERY obvious when an ESA person boards versus the non-ESA. The ESA person has proper documentation, tags, etc., but who am I to kick the non-ESA passenger off the flight to accommodate you that should be on the flight? It is not allowed. This is my concern because the airline regulations should be more standardized to protect the disabled/ESA passenger versus those that are taking advantage of the system and could give a damn about you.

Mar 1st 2010 4:00PM We need to ban together and create a watchlist for those abusing the emotional support animal policy. There are too many passengers preying upon a policy that is to aid the disabled and are abusing it because they are too cheap to pay the in-cabin fee for their pet. This abuse needs to stop. I see it daily and it angers me. These folks don't care about anyone else but themselves. It is not an issue about pets having to go into cargo, it's an issue of payment.

Mar 1st 2010 3:50PM The inconsiderate, thoughtless, cheap and selfish people bringing their FAKE support animals are the same folks that park in disabled parking spaces illegally. Airlines have a limited number of 'pets' that can be accepted in-cabin and are now displacing those with needs. Airlines ARE allowed by law to ask for documentation etc. So, when does a 'mentally ill' teenager have to bring her chihuhuahua onboard in it's Juicy bag armed with a note from her father's friend that happens to be a doctor? Give me a break! There should be a HUGE fine for those that lie and they should forever be placed on the no fly list along with their designer dog. I personally am going to campaign against these folks, and as a airline agent am going to document their names and turn them over to the proper agencies.
Is Kevin Smith Too Fat to Fly? (VIDEO) {Inside TV Blog}
Feb 16th 2010 11:02AM This policy is unacceptable. As an experienced airline gate agent, when faced with the same problem, I simply pull up the passenger log for the person in the middle seat, page them to the podium and tell them DISCREETLY why I am moving them. I am sure the 'obese' person feels a sense of relief when they see that empty middle seat. My airline has recently implemented the same 'fat' policy, and bottom line is that the cost of profiting off of one seat (making them buy a second) does not outweigh the loss future revenue from that same customer after you've embarrassed the hell out of them. Unfortunately, the demise of airline customer service is weighted in the layoffs of several experienced and college educated personnel being replaced by many that could give a damn about humanity.
