LCD vs Plasma in 2009 {Engadget HD}
Jan 16th 2009 3:18PM Check this link from a physics magazine article on OLEDs, which Engadget seems to be saying is the next best thing, once it grows up, that is.

10.2-inch Averatec Buddy now on sale for $450 {Engadget}
Oct 13th 2008 11:12AM I agree wholeheartedly. Their customer service sucks. And their products run really really hot. I had the same power jack problem myself.
Congrats Barry Bonds {Blog Maverick}
Aug 16th 2007 11:35AM It's PATHETIC that people "love" and "hate" athletes. I love love he athletics of Barry Sanders and I even think he is a nice guy. I used to hate the overrated athleticism (my opinion) of Shaq (thought he was just a big load) ad thought he was a big-mouth. Now I respect him for the things he does off the court. But I never HATED Shaq the way people hate Barry Bonds (or Michael Vick), and I never worshipped Barry Sanders. Athletes are people too, and where I come from, I was taught not to hate. Some of these same hateful people call themselves Christians (which I am). They should be ashamed for teaching their children their stupid obsession called hate!
Giveaway: have an iPhone on us! {Engadget}
Jul 1st 2007 10:54AM The opportunity to finally trump my wife's Motorola Q (I got the LG V, not even the enV), and her 30 GB video iPod (I got a Shuffle), and her Toshiba laptop (I have an overheating Averatec), and her good looks (I am below average height and above average weight). Help save our marriage, please!!!
Some Quick Thoughts on the Music Business {Blog Maverick}
Apr 9th 2007 11:25PM The music industry should copy Disney and each artist should issue an album for 2 years...then pull it off the market for 10 years. During that that time, there will be a premium to get copies of those songs, and the black market will hot!
What?! Don't laugh. It's better than all your ideas!
Bottom line is, and I said it before, the money will be made in the carrier/device technology, not the output product/the music file.
The Future of Personal Computing ? {Blog Maverick}
Feb 21st 2007 11:26AM I am a PhD Chemical Engineer and I very much agree with your comments. I will also add that until the promise of nanotechnology is delivered (which I predict to be 10 years from now or more since we are now focusing on alternative energy), we will and have seen a flat line in hardware technology development. The focus is on applications, which bodes well for Google (I am a Google evangelist by the way). I personally fear doing everything online, even though I am 95% there already, because I don't want to pay for unlimited connectivity (broadband cards, etc.)
Holiday Wish List: Curtain Bluff, Antigua {Gadling}
May 11th 2006 1:21PM My wife is from Antigua, and like the author of this post, I too am originally from the Caribbean. I would like to go, though, as a tourist to an all inclusive gig like this. The in-laws are the best but I want to spend some time on the outskirts as well where the famed beaches are. Speaking of famed beaches, the Virgin Islands are fantastic, especially Virgin Gorda (Britsh Isles) and St. John's (U.S. Isles) - nothing like them that I've seen for myself.
