Child's sunburn lands dad in hot water {ParentDish}

Jun 15th 2008 12:12PM I understand that this was neglectful activity but I don't know why it's "criminal." I also think that it is horrible that the father doesn't get to see the kid for 14 days. It sounds like this was a case of bitterness between the parents that escalated into the mother having the father arrested. Then again, I'm probably reading too much into this.

Regardless, I'm sure that the father will take better precautions in the future.

Pregnancy labels for medicine? {ParentDish}

Jun 1st 2008 2:19PM This would be helpful as I remember going to take a cough drop while I was pregnant and then read on the package that I had to ask my doctor first. I took it anyway.

I'm sure that the fact that my child has three heads is completely unrelated.

How much do you really need for baby #2? {ParentDish}

May 13th 2008 11:25PM Both of my kids were the same sex and 25 months apart. I bought a three pack of newborn gowns and a diaper bag. I didn't even have to buy diapers as we reused our stash of cloth ones.

I would have bought another baby book had we not already been given an extra one for the first child.

That said, I bought a lot more for myself ... house cleaner, massage, doula :)

Kathie Lee Gifford "uncomfortable" with mommyblogging; TMI in books & television is okay {ParentDish}

May 11th 2008 12:30PM I'm glad you wrote this post. I sat with my mouth agape as Gifford went on about the perils of BLOGGING ... on the INTERNET ... and using a COMPUTER. As if making yourself a public entity on the television is any less inviting to whack jobs.

She was the wrong person to do the interview, plain and simple. Perhaps they should have used one of the staff that knew how to use a computer which she admitedly did not.

Postpartum supplies for mommy {ParentDish}

Mar 21st 2008 10:14PM Get someone to clean the house either when you are in the hospital or shortly after you return. I know how tight money is when facing the birth of a child but this is one luxury that will be sooo worth it.

You could always hint that you would like a gift certificate for a cleaning service before your shower as well.

Pregnancy 2, electric boogaloo {ParentDish}

Mar 3rd 2008 10:39PM Congratulations! New Orleans is still a good time without the booze however those who are drinking seem a lot more annoying. Can't wait for your visit!

Surviving being home alone with two kids {ParentDish}

Feb 17th 2008 8:27PM I have a 5-month-old and a 2.5 year old and I just hired a housekeeper to come twice a month and clean. That's my only advice as I am barely hanging on myself!

Potty Training Manual {ParentDish}

Feb 16th 2008 6:55PM Everything works beautifully. My 2.5 year old uses the potty consistently all day long ... as long as she's allowed to run around without a diaper, panties or pants.

Letting a sleeping baby lie {ParentDish}

Feb 13th 2008 7:07PM Yeah, I've been there - especially with the first. With my second I just feel guilty because I can't possibly hold her as often as I did her sister.

Houma, Louisiana: Family style Mardi Gras {Gadling}

Feb 7th 2008 6:00PM Houma's a great town. However, I hate the misnomer that New Orleans Mardi Gras is not family friendly. Nearly the entire parade route is lined with families with young children. It's not until you get towards the French Quarter that things change. Bourbon Street itself on the morning of Mardi Gras Day is full of families as well.

Besides, if you bring a kid with you, you get better beads. Everyone knows that.
