Teens Banned from Trick or Treating {Holidash News}
Oct 29th 2010 1:53PM I think age 12 is a good cut-off limit. It's really for the little ones. As for the statement about trick or treating cutting down on teenage vandalism, that's ludicrous. If a teen has a mind bent toward being dishonest, one night of trick or treating isn't going to help curtail that. It just doesn't make sense that a criminal would say, "No guys, tonight we're going for the $30 bucket of candy, instead of breaking in a home where we stand to make thousands off laptops, guns, and jewelry."I just don't see it.
For the most part, when people come to the door to give out candy, they really don't want to see big, tall, adult-like figures in scary costumes. It's just too close to reality. Who knows: They might be peeping inside your home, behind the mask ( unbeknownst to you), casing your place for the next bit of loot. This time, it won't be for a few pieces of candy.
Taylor Swift Apologizes to Ex-Boyfriend Taylor Lautner Through New Song {PopEater}
Oct 18th 2010 12:14AM I honestly can't believe how mean some people are. This was a hauntingly poignant song, reaching out to someone she feels very deeply about. At the very least, hopefully, the results of this song will garner her some forgiveness from Lautner. At best, maybe these two could try again. Love is sometimes worth a second chance.
As for the song, it's a beautiful and heartfelt melody whose words many can relate to at some point in their lives. I know it's destined to be another chart topper. Congratulations, Miss Swift! Best of luck, with all sincerity.
Paula Abdul Quits! 'American Idol' Is Ruined {AOL TV: American Idol}
Aug 5th 2009 8:11PM Paula is sincere and accurate in her assessments without being condescending and rude. I don't think I can stand to listen to Simon without Paula's personality to balance it out. Furthermore, I would much rather there be 2 judges than have Kara in the mix. Sorry, but I honestly do not believe she has anything valuable to add to the judges panel. Paula.. please change your mind. Fox: If you don't help her change her mind and pay her well.. your audience base will suffer for it... GUARANTEED! Don't be chauvenistic fools: let's balance out the pay, guys!!! It's a horrific insult to pay the other guys double or more than you offer to Paula. You have a diamond and you offer her chicken feed. HMPH!! I would've walked to.
Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger's Harry Potter Romance {Moviefone Blog}
Jul 1st 2009 2:39PM The budding romance between Ron and Hermoine is just another interesting element of the movie. You have action and adventure, suspense, humor, friendship & comradery, and now, love and romance. Ron's protective nature of Hermoine makes it even better. The whole series .. each story is so imaginative and creative and we enjoy going wherever Rowling chooses to take us, because we know it's an adventure we're not likely to forget.
Rosie Quits 'The View' {AOL Video Blog}
Apr 27th 2007 3:09AM Couldn't have said it better myself, Maggy. People who hate others for simply having an opinion different from their own are the ones to be feared. Save intolerance for those who commit REAL crimes (murderers, theives, etc.)This country is based on diversity, snce we're all from different backgrounds, religions, and cultures. Therefore, naturally, our views will differ. It's okay to disagree with someone's view, but don't attack them personally. It's childish and downright bigotry.
John Edwards Is Pretty {AOL Video Blog}
Apr 19th 2007 11:45AM Being in the public eye, I know many go the extra mile to look their best, as they are judged, not just by what they say, but how they look, what they do, etc. I don't, however, feel it was such a good idea for someone who supports the common man to spend that much money on a simple haircut. Let's stay focused John.... I know you'll do a good job as President. Remember what's important!
Buying Other People's Lost Luggage {Gadling}
Apr 2nd 2007 11:20PM This is just ANOTHER reason why I won't fly, not that I really needed one, with my fear of flying, astronomical prices,and terrorists looking for a not-so-hard-to-find security breach at our airports.
The World's Most Expensive Lipstick and Mascara {Luxist}
Sep 27th 2006 2:03AM After reading most of your comments, I see you're right in line with what I'm thinking: WASTEFUL WASTEFUL WASTEFUL! All this lavish spending makes me ill. There are children out there who go to bed hungry at night and homeless people who barely exist day to day... yet these people, without a second's hesitation or a moment's thought, without guilt or remorse, throw money away on luxury items like it's nothing. What in the world is wrong with them??? It's self-worshiping and it's beyond disgusting.
Dixie Chicks Jab at Mel Gibson in N.Y. {The Boot}
Aug 8th 2006 3:38AM Unfortunately, one must weigh the risks involved when talking about touchy subjects, such as politics or religion. I remember well when Tom Cruise started being more outspoken about Scientology; it completely turned me off and I haven't seen a movie with him in it since. Does that mean Cruise will fade from popularity? Hardly. He knows he has a wide enough fan base to show his true colors and be himself. Similarly, the Dixie Chics have weighed the risks, and found their outspokenness to be liberating. Did it damage their popularity? Somewhat. Did it kill them? No. Stars are politically "coming out of the closet" more and more these days. Maybe the cry of outrage and demand for respect (by others) has more to do with losing your favorite star because of a political conflict (and less to do with being disrespectful of Bush). Don't tell us who you are--just shut up and sing... is that it? It's kind of weird how much money we'll spend on magazines at the check out counter to find out the latest gossip on our favorite stars, yet we scream foul when they offer personal political viewpoints.
The Dixie Chicks are just unapologetically being who they are, within the guidelines of our constitution. That's their right, and it's your right not to like IT or THEM. Maybe those of you who've protested are just jealous that your opinion isn't heard as loud or doesn't carry as much weight. :o)
Star Jones off The View: BREAKING NEWS {AOL TV}
May 10th 2006 8:46AM I enjoy watching The View from time to time. Meredith and Star made the show for me. If my two favorite hosts are BOTH exiting, I still might watch it from time to time based on special program topics. HOWEVER, not only is The View removing my two favs, they're throwing in a t.v. personality that, for me, is totally unpalatable: Rosie. So, I'm sorry View, it was fun while it lasted but I think I'd much rather watch some sappy, dramatic Lifetime movie! Buh-Bye!
