Feb 27th 2011 1:53AM I've lived through several "OIL Events" 1974 embargo, 1978-79, Gulf War #1, Gulf War #2, Katrina, other weather events, and now the Mid-East Revolution. People, get a grip! During the '74 embargo we drove around with 5 gallon gas cans so we wouldn't get stuck in the middle of nowhere. I'd rather pay the higher prices than have no fuel at all. We are fortunate in that the oil companies in the USA still sell gas by the gallon. In most European countries they sell it by the liter.
High prices, low prices, no gas at all, has never kept me from doing what I want to do or go where I want to go, when ever I want to go. I'm addicted to V-8's, lots of horsepower and torque.
I drive 10 miles over the speed limit and if you are in the left lane cruising at 5 miles under the limit and feeling smug about it, I'll ride your bumper til you move over or blow by you on the right.
I hope the stuff goes to $5 a gallon and then maybe some of the left lane hanging numb nuts that cause 25 car back ups on the open interstate will stay home or take the bus.

If they can't out think, out smart a six year old they need to be locked up. Our tax dollars are used to pay for these worthless research reports that keep trying to address the same old, worn out, scenarios. Sort of like "feed the monkey, watch him poop". I got the "Talk" from my dad when I was 12 or 13. I watched him squrim and stutter but I already knew about the "birds and bees". Read about all that stuff in his well hidden Playboy magazines. Go figure, don't need a guvment funded sex report to figure out how it all works.
