Nov 27th 2007 8:44AM Obesity is a disease. Anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant. Charging more for an obese passenger is discriminitory. The airlines are wrong to design one-size fits-all seats that don't fit any member our the population who weighs over 220 lbs. Does the plane have a handicap seat for a person in a wheelchair? Does that person have to pay extra for that wheelchair? Would you all sit here and slam diabled people and their damn wheelchairs rising up the cost of the flight for everyone else? No - but fat people are the new easy target for all you people who need to have one. Here's the solution. Make this the airlines responsibility. The airline can give up 2 "one-size" seats to make for three "XL" seats to accomodate everyone, so they aren't being discrimintory. It would cost them one seat per flight. *You people are ignorant and need to get a life.
