I agree people should be thankful for the efforts of others.

But.

I think the real point here should be that we wouldn't need to go through this BS if shit was just open.

I for one am tired of the mf'n lock devices and exclusionary agreements as well as proprietary standards. (Oxymorons)
What a waste of time. Just make everything open and make it GSM!

Uh well I for one Love my metal 1st gen iphone.
still the best bang for the buck to me.
flew off y motorcycle at 40MPH, only some scratches on the back.
Man it tumbled down the street for at least one block.
I payed $250 for it w/o contract from att and unlocked it for tmob.
Best deal evaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Isn't anyone more inclined to choose GSM which is able to do that now and if you want to switch carriers you just swap the sim. Great for traveling. Hey isn't that useful to anyone besides me?
