Sep 4th 2009 2:45PM Death in the chipper is no more inhumane than the usual beheading of full grown poultry is. As a matter of fact its more humane becuase its down before they have lived a day. Raising animals for food is an age old human tradition. lets face it these are not pets. We kill animals for food all the time and if you are ok with your Thanksgiving turkey or Easter ham then this should not bother you either. If you are Vegan or vegitarian and feel this is so morally wrong you have a right to your opinion. Just remember our ancestors were largely vegitarian at one time and it was not until they started to eat meat that the increased protein in their diet aloowed for greater brain developement and the increase in calories allowed them to spend less time foraging for vegies and nuts and more time developing language, art and social order.

Oct 31st 2008 2:34PM Someone please explain to me why John McCain is considered a war hero? What heroic action did he perform. Did he fall on a grenade to save his platoon? Did he rescue wounded under withering machine gun fire? Did lead a mission to capture an enemy position? No he was shot down flyin a bombing mission (note he was not a "fighter pilot"), ejected, was wounded during ejection (his arm and legs were not broken by the vietnamese), was captured taken prisoner and gave up sensitive military inteligence in return for medical treatment ( no one can fault a man for giving up information under such duress but these actions are far from heroic).
Befrore calling John McCain a hero with a capital "H" we should recognize there were over 600 other heros who were pow's in vietnam and thousands of other heros who lost their lives in service to their country. All our fighting men and women are heros and some are actual Heros with a capital "H". I've known sevral Heros. and to call John McCain a Hero takes away form the self sacrifice and Heroic actions of others.

My fellow Americans,
After 8 years under President Barrak Obama we are on the eve of another presidential election. for the first time in recent history there are three people running with a viable chance at victory.
After losing to President Obama in 2008 the GOP under went schism which diveded the party. We now have The Grand Old Party of Lincoln, who are made up of fiscal conservatives for small efficient government, and the Christian Republican Party, made up of Social conservative christian fundemantalists.
I wish you could see the U.S.A. today. A booming economy, middle class growth, 2% unemployment, and affordable healthcare available to all.
Our environment is cleaner thanks to our government and private sector collaboration on green technologies and clean energy. Clean coal power plants, wind farms and some nuclear plants have helped create an electrical grid for the twenty first century capable of supporting the greatest contribution to our cleaner environment, fully electric automobiles. Yes all four ( yes four ) major U.S. auto manufacturers offer at least one fully electric model, and 1 in 5 Americans own an electric car thanks to government tax credits to purchase them. this combined with responsible use of our off shore oil reserves has dropped U.S. dependence on foriegn oil by 15%. It may not seem like much now but this has been increasing year by year as more and more people purchas electric cars and we continue to develope alternative energy.
With our sons and duaghters home from Iraq for six years and Afgahanistan for four we are entering into our fifth year of peace and prosperity. Thanks to a joint U.S. Afghan and Pakistani task force Osama bin Laden and four of his top Alqueda leaders were captured tried and executed.
Iraq has formed a stable government and the U.S. and its allies operate to small bases in southern Iraq to ensure Mid east stability.
Yes my friends on this election eve as we say good bye to President Obama remember wether you vote for the CRP candidate Sarah Palin, the GOPL candidate Rudy Gulliani or the Democrat Hillary Clinton consider were the last eight years better than the eight before that.
