The Mediterranean Island Of Pantelleria: Where Italy Meets North Africa {Gadling}

Sep 19th 2012 5:24PM Best regards. Interesting story. I am an American who has lived here for 8 years. I have never seen or heard of this dish. Even though I have eaten at the tables of many local Pantesche. Interesting you met someone on the island who speaks English. Very few locals speak English. From the way he was dressed he sounds like a Sicilian or tourist. I will have to fill in my experience and see what I can find out about this dish. While the heritage of Pantelleria includes, as you say, long contact with North African Islamic cultures in ancient times...in contemporary times there is very little, to no contact with Africa from here now. There is no way to go from here to Africa. Unless you had your own boat. There are a few Tunisian workers around. We have gotten the random handfuls of immigrants from time to time, usually the ones who get lost. I heard about the food conference but was unable to attend. Pantelleria is a charming and peaceful place. I hope someone shared a glass of Passito with you.

Found Footage: iPhone concert on the B train {TUAW.com}

Oct 16th 2010 1:07PM Don't know if these guys are the first to do it, probably not...but quite the revolution in what is possible, historic and very exciting. They did a great job. This iOS technology is a very profound new way to express creativity, an explosion. I refuse to own an iPhone because of the control, the anal-based app store and drm involved, but is cool to watch the sheeples break free and do new things....

Apple no-cash policy for iPad takes some by surprise {TUAW.com}

May 19th 2010 3:38AM Continuing to defend Apple with these hostile, controlling policies is going thin. I am not sure what is wrong with you people who do. The word brain dead comes to mind, but it may be something else. I am sure, if challenged by attorneys, this policy is not legal. It is pathetic. The iGreed with iDevices is a real problem. How ironic that Jobs has become this rather perverted control freak.

Could a closed Mac be in Apple's future? {TUAW.com}

May 17th 2010 5:38PM "Apple has entered into its most successful period by providing devices that work with the tasks that people want to experience on the go, whether it's making calls, checking location-based resources or handling e-mail and surfing the web."

....not right they IMPOSED a drm, closed system. In spite of its novelty and adoption by millions of sheep, it is a terrible trend, a closed trend, a controlling trend, a greedy trend that serves no honor or hope to the promise of computer technology....

Apple disses the desktop? {TUAW.com}

Apr 28th 2010 10:06AM Even so, 95 per cent of every word in this blog site is about apple mobile devices with rarely a word on the desktop......but its clear that Apple these days has a rather fatalistic hunger to follow the money which is less and less in the desktop platforms. Apple's iMutation is a little on the pathetic side.

Apple's growing pains, culture of secrecy and the iPad {TUAW.com}

Mar 31st 2010 5:05PM I agree with the article. Jobs does have a self-defeating side to his nature and the iPad has his influence all over it. Apple's obsessions, second only to MacWorlds obsession with the iPhone os and the endless articles about useless games and childish apps for tiny mobile devices have created a smoke screen of hysteria which has blinded most commentators to the looming dark side of Apple products...the insane levels of control. The iPad is promising, but the hype around it is dangerously hysterical in my view. I depend on Apple for serious computers not iToys. Can Apple sustain its hype machine on this diet of iToys and abandon real computers?...and survive? This is a more dangerous and telling moment than the unrelenting loyalists can ever imagine.

Found Footage: SNL parodies Steve Jobs again {TUAW.com}

Mar 2nd 2010 9:37AM It is TUAW fault to use Hulu. Is like the AOL logo on the page, TUAW needs to wise up. TUAW should support universal video formats and not be a shill for hulu, which they are being by choice, since they could have made the link from other sources. the fact that TUAW does this says something about their choices. It is not bitching to wonder why an international web site pimps for a piece of trash like hulu.

'I'm on a Mac' parody video makes noise {TUAW.com}

Dec 30th 2009 6:24AM Camperton doest thou Spock to Much?
YuckYouck. I think it is right, it is ok. The parody of a parody is in fact the
dreamer awakening inside his (or her) own parody
of which live generally is one, of, etc. ...mthr---f..r...

Strand Consult to iPhone users: You're delusional and a big, fat liar too {TUAW.com}

Dec 13th 2009 12:30PM Not sure he is wrong here...I am a long-time Mac user. Would not touch an iPhone given the big brother control of the AppStore, tethering to only one carrier, and DRM apps....I think the greed of Apple has truly ruined this great device...greed and control. ALSo I SICK and TIRED of every Mac Blog, like this one, can ONLY write about the iPhone...it's arrival has sent blogs like this one over the edge to where you are just iPhone blogs....as an actual COMPUTER user, this obsession with a tiny, limited device does seem a bit psychopathic, especially from the editors and writers of blogs like this, if not so much with regular people. Remember actual computers? I am sick to death of this obsession with a tiny phone....and Apple's Big brother BS....
