Staying in a hotel? Bring your own drinking glasses {Gadling}

Dec 14th 2007 9:07PM I know for absolute certainty this practice is widespread. I worked for a luxury beach resort in Destin, Florida 20 years ago. I was instructed to "wash" the glasses with glasscleaner (think windex) when we ran out of clean ones on the cart. I quit after my second day.

BA 747 narrowly escapes a mid-air collision {Gadling}

Nov 21st 2007 12:06AM Yes, these things are becoming more and more common - thanks to an alarming shortage of experienced air traffic controllers. More and more air traffic controllers are walking off the job, either by quitting because of the low starting pay (just $9.00 an hour) or because they are eligible to retire(years before it is mandatory) and refuse to stay a day longer under the current unsafe and hostile work environment. Many are working 6 day weeks, 10 hour days. As a wife of a controller, knowing what I know, I won't fly anywhere. A horrible accident is just a matter of time. When you see it - or if you want to be proactive, call your senator and demand a fix to this situation.
